Can LSU Basketball win the SEC?

Maybe a stupid question, but I can't keep up with the team like y'all b/c they never show any games here in Houston. Do we have a legit shot at possibly winning the SEC in the regular season, even over Kentucky? From what I see in the box scores, stats, and read on here, we're actually doing pretty well and we seem to improve every single game. Dunno...just figured I'd ask, could be a stupid question...

5th or 6th would be fantastic. UK, State, Vandy, and Bama are better than us, imo

If we beat BAMA next week, we have a good shot at taking them this season. Curious how the rematch goes if we win.

No just because UK is head and shoulders above us. I wouldn't be suprised to finish 3rd though.

No. They are hopefully good enough for sixth or fifth. But KY, FLA, Vandy, Alabama, and Miss St are all pretty good, as is Tenn, apparently.

If you are being serious then you know nothing about Tennessee this year. They are a bottom 3 team in the league this year

Haven't seen them but saw they beat Fla today.
In other words, I know nothing about them, other than the above fact.

They've lost to Oakland (on the road, but still), Memphis twice, College of Charleston, Austin Peay, and Pittsburgh. Yes they beat UF today, but no they aren't very good

Trent has improved this team over last year's squad. maybe in 2014 this program can be a top 3 or 4 team in the sec. i take 7 sec wins this year.

Peay is horrid
Charleston is meh
Oakland is decent, but still a team Tenn should beat
I don't have a bead on Memphis since I haven't got to watch them this season.
Pitt wasn't a bad loss when it happened, but Pitt just doesn't look all that good anymore.

maybe so. i know jack shite about college basketball, just know that Memphis and Pitt are usually great, Oakland has been in the tourney..
Im just glad LSU won today. I remember a thread on the SEC rant when Ole Miss and LSU were both 7-3 or so and Ole Miss fans insisted that they were better than LSU.

Yea, big win to kick off the year for sure. I think this team could win 8 or 9 SEC games this year, which is great considering we've won 5 in the last two years combined

We could get some really lucky breaks and I'm sure it could happen, but I wouldn't count on it. This is a good team, but they are still growing. We can finish in the top half of the conference this year with a chance to compete and make a NCAA tourney run next year.

I'd think we could get to about 3rd or forth. I think we could beat Bama, but I think Miss St. is solid this year and Kentucky is in a different league than us this year. One game, its possible for this team to beat anyone, but over the whole season, I dont think we can get to #1.
Ole miss will probably win anywhere from 2-4 games in the SEC. They are not a solid club. I was still impressed with the win.
