How is this Bama's fault? I see a lot of posts that Bama is behind this.

I personally do not believe there is a conspiracy with the Sec and refs for Bama. I believe Saban intimidates referees more than any coach in the history of college football and it just so happens the SEC headquarters is located in Alabama.

Targeting was intended to prevent injuries and viscous late blows to the head.

Momentum brought Devin White into the QB and to me he actually looks to be pulling up on the hit.

The targeting call should not have made it out of the booth and I promise you every SEC official would agree with this at this time given more angles and time to review.

The game was in hand and Devin clearly was not trying to deliver a blow to the head.

Overall a bad call and LSU has to live with it

But sadly DW40 will be on the sidelines first half

Pretty sure he can't even be on the field.

They should. I really think if you have a lot of people saying how ridiculous his call was, it may get the NCAA involved finally.

So you started this thread based on your opinion, but tried to pass it off as you knew something?

GTFO.

rule makes it targeting to hit a quarterback in the head or neck with your hand, forearm, elbow, shoulder or any part of your helmet if he is throwing or has just thrown the ball.

Does the rule not state “forcible”? This, as you aptly described, was incidental contact to the head. Not in any way “forcible”.
