He sure outplayed Gangsta Kelly on Saturday night - in my opinion. Can he do it the rest of the season? Only one that can beat him head up is Hurts - the other three....not so much.

Here's who's left:

Gumps - Hurts
Pigs - Allen
Fla - Del Rio/Appleby
Gaggies - Knight

Hurts is an average QB on a good team.

with a below average arm. We should be able to contain him running. I think we hold that offense to less than 21 pts

They saw the best QB in the SEC last Saturday Night. This next guy Hurts is 5th in the SEC and some of his stats are very average. Like the person said he is an average QB on a good team.

He doesn't have to "outplay" anybody. He just needs to keep doing what he's doing by providing a legitimate passing threat to go along with Fournette and Guice.

Let the defense worry about "outplaying" the other team's QB.

I somewhat disagree here. He is a great dual threat QB, average passing, above average IQ (especially for a Freshman). Yes he is surrounded by a great line and playmakers. Doesn't make many mistakes tho and can kill you with his feet.

How will the freshman handle Death Valley on a saturday night is the question.

Hurts is still playing behind a great OL, with outstanding receivers, highly recruited RBS, and running plays called by Lane Kiffin. If it was just a matter of capitalizing on Hurts's freshmanness, Bama would already have a loss or two.

Arabda cancels out Lane thru 4 qtrs.

LSU defensive talent cancels out Bama's Offensive talent

Key hurts hurt

LSU held Ole Miss to 21 with 7pts coming from a drive starting on our own 8yd line and only one other TD. It was them most complete game by an SEC defense this year against a top offense. They pretty much do this every week. Bama's offense does not worry me. The one aspect of Bama's team that beats us up every year is their defense with Bicky at the helm.

I think Bama will put up all their points in the first half. You don't score on Arranda in the second half

It just doesn't work like that.

Aranda is a second half monster. I really hope they play a full 60 minutes with Bama though.

Chad Kelly Vs. LSU Defense does not = Danny Etling Vs. Ole Miss Defense.

Bama will be able to shed some light of just how good he is. If he impresses against that defense than I will be ecstatic!

Yes. Hurts is not a great passer at this stage of his development. If Etling can avoid mistakes, step up in the pocket to avoid the pass rush, and hit receivers in the windows provided we have a good chance to win.

Pigs - Allen
Perhaps.

Perhaps.

Yes.

Etling does not have to outplay the other qb's. He just has to manage our offense. The other qb's are the responsibility of our defense.

Right now, Etling is outplaying about 90% of the QBs in the nation.
