It sure seemed to me the QB issue was totally settled Sat. Night, and I was initially all Team Harris.

It doesn't seem that way to me. I expected the sophomore with game experience to get the bulk of the snaps, especially after going down early.

I'm not sure why you'd be so convinced that all of a sudden the QB situation has magically cleared up based on that game.

Sims got all the snaps in Alabama's game, yet Saban explicitly stated in subsequent press conferences that both Qb's will play and compete. You're reading too much into Harris's 3 snaps.

but if Jennings improves as the QB and leads LSU to a respectable offense, can Harris still take a redshirt?

I wouldn't want him to redshirt even if jennings improves.

We are one play away from Jennings having to play. He needs snaps any time he can get them. We just don't have that luxury.

It goes with the territory (true freshman inserted into a rough game), but this is what bothered me the most:

First Huddle

looks like he was repeating the play call to everyone and none of them understood it.

No shite. Read my comments and you'll see I was too. Apparently the point of the reference sailed right over your head.

Don't judge BH on that one series....the O-Line didn't offer any protection on the 3rd down sack and hadn't been playing well leading up to BH coming in.

He'll do better....in the meantime AJ is doing enough to keep the starting job...he's winning so there's that!

I already knew the answer to that. It was a rhetorical question. I dont want Harris stepping foot on the field, contrary to what many want. I agree we lose if he went back into the game at any point. Jennings should play every single snap the rest of the season.

It's not about Harris' performance on those 3 snaps (or lack thereof), it's about how well Jennings played once the team settled in.

Well obviously you've formed some pretty conclusive opinions on both quarterbacks based on the Wisconsin game. I completely disagree that such conclusive observations can be drawn from the game and if the coaches originally saw the Qb competition close enough to warrant snaps from each guy, I didn't see anything in that game that would fundamentally alter that approach.

I liked what I saw from Jennings in the second half and I'd love for either Qb to outright win the job. But I don't think Jennings played well enough throughout to keep Harris from getting his chances. And anyone drawing sweeping conclusions off of those 3 snaps Harris took is not to be taken too seriously IMO.

I think Les has handled, and probably will continue to handle, this situation correctly. Jennings has the advantage but Harris will have an opportunity as well.

a second string qb is damn important to a team over the course of a season. harris needs some PT in the cupcake arena in case AJ goes down.

5/7 150 yards in the second half.

Thats true, but that was against a super weak secondary with WRs doing a lot after the Catch. And then Our Oline started upending up dumpster truck sized holes for Kenny Hilliard and that was it.

This is a dumb question. No one at LSU should redshirt unless it is a off/def lineman, who sometimes need time to get bigger. Skill players will not stay in college 5 years at LSU.
Second....he is the primary backup. He needs to be fresh and involved since he is one injury away from being the starter.

Can anybody remember an lsu season where the starter played all the snaps. Bh will get his chance to play this year and it will probably be in a spot where we really need him to come up big.

Therefore, I like what I see from Jennings and he is qb1 unless he gets beat out and Qb2 needs to get some time in the cupcake games so he has some experience for when we need him.

For me, it wasn't his 3 snaps. It was his inability to run the huddle, his deer in the headlights look, and his general body language. He looked panicked and like the stage was too big for him. That is maturity and will only get better with age but he didn't look ready to LEAD. I'm sure his talent if off the charts. That's what the coaches see everyday and why they gave him a chance. The "intangibles", however, are what show up in games and he needs to mature.

I love how everyone in this thread assumes the OL was the problem when Harris was in

guess what? we have no clue what happened. there was a huddle in which Harris looked like he didn't communicate the play to the team, and he certainly looked lost.

I'm not saying it is or is isn't the OL's fault, but yall keep throwing them under the bus when in reality you have no clue what you're talking about.

For all we know Harris could not have picked up on the playbook yet. Or it could be the OL. Or it could be a gazillion other things.
