I know Miles hasn't settled on a QB yet, and chances are he will still be needed at some point in the season..but if Jennings improves as the QB and leads LSU to a respectable offense, can Harris still take a redshirt?

P.S: I am not trying to pick one QB over the other, just wondering if we will have a chance to maximize our current backup QB'e eligibility.

He will have to play because there is no one else behind Jennings and Harris

I don't think we want him to redshirt. We need to get him some playing time so that the game starts to slow down for him.

he can but i persnally doubt they will because there is no other qb if something happens to anthony. Plus they still want to play him to see how will be the better qb cause anthony only completed 9-21 passes for 236 yards on pass being 80 yards

Eligibility-wise, today, he could likely still get a RS. Practically, this won't happen because Miles will play him in the next 2 games. With Jennings' inexperience, he must still develop Harris through PT.

I know we need him, I said as much. I was wondering if the NCAA rules for redshirting has a limit on the number of snaps he could play in his Fr. year.

Still had 2 TD passes and won the game....

5/7 150 yards in the second half.

Technically it is 1 snap, but you can get around it with a very few plays.

He doesn't need to redshirt. He needs as much PT as possible in these next few games so both quarterbacks will be prepared for meaningful snaps. We are not deep at quarterback, I don't think Jennings has the role of starter locked away, and redshirts are less and less justifiable with talented players who are leaving after 3 or 4 years anyway.

Miles meant for Harris to get more snaps against Wisconsin as it was. He's going to play and as it stands, he should play.

No. No he doesnt. He needs to pick a QB and go with the QB that gives us the best chance to win. Then the other QB should not step foot on the field unless QB1 is injured.

1 snap = no redshirt, it would have to be a medical at this point

As of today--maybe--just maybe. After this Saturday, no chance.

Yep. There were a lot of positives to take from Jennings performance. There were at least two easy drops and at least one, maybe two, others that could have been caught but would have been tough.

He showed a lot of accuracy, and a lot more poise when the pocket broke down than I was expecting for someone making their second career start.

Because he had a deer in the headlights look when he was in there.

No he cant
He needs more reps not more bench time
The next two games he needs to split time 60/40 IMO.

Meh. Not really a fan of redshirting. If a player is really good, there's no chance he'll be here anyway beyond his junior year given our program. Might as well play him as much as we can while he is here. If they are not elite, doesn't matter anyway.

Ask Les Miles. You'll get the same vague, secretive answer he gave before and always gives. However, he too said he wanted to give Harris more snaps.
