Johnny Freaking Football threw 3 picks against LSU and his team lost. Did Coach Sumlin change to the I formation and never throw a pass again? No, they taught Manziel where he made mistakes and learned how to be better next time. As a result, they went into Tuscaloosa and played to win, and Johnny Football played great. His coaches didn't go into that game with the mindset, "Let's call a bunch of running plays so that we don't make mistakes."

Yeah because Sumlin knew he couldn't win with defense. Unlike LSU.
I guess posters forget that the easiest way to LOSE a game is TURNOVERS.

ironically had Les played a little more conservative LSU probably would have won the game vs. Bama last year.

Not being conservative and playing to win by throwing the ball on the last drive against Clemson worked out well.

Zach Mettenberger is far too talented to get the results that we saw for much of last year.
He connected 58% attempted- near JJ's worst year.

2012 was most PA since '08, so not sure where you're going with this.
I thought it was too many attempts considering the OL attrition, sacks and the comp%.
But hey, unlike most, I think '11 was one of the best offenses in LSU history, so what do I know?

Actually it's big picture perspective of the offensive side of our program. I think, like someone else stated, the biggest problems we have had are recruiting and developing a quality qb and the issues with OC. Revolving door, ineffectiveness at times, the sickness issue, and finally making a hire that seems like it'll work. It's been frustrating to be sure. It's seems the athletes are in place now at the qb position and the right guy is here to help lead them. God let this be accurate and if so let CC stay around awhile.

im a little late to this party and not responding to anyone in particular but if anyone thinks any OC in the country is given full play calling responsibility with 0 say so from the HC, they are sadly mistaken

I think the heart of the matter is whether it's a harmonious give-and-take or a battle of wills.

If you could not see when we switched directions in 2010 with miles doing more than meddling then you are beyond help. I could care less about the empty platitudes and coach speak BS. let's see it on the field.

soon someone will be in here and say our offense failed due to execution. it was not playcalling or predictability, even though the players even saw it.

It was. Don't let dumbass,x box fans tell you it wasn't. When counting only passing and rushing TDs, 2011 was the number one tiger offense, EVER.

So where in that quote do I write that "offensive coordinators can't affect the offense"?

I have no clue as to what this might mean. Do you?

Why would I want to do that? I would like you to quote where I wrote that Cam is a loser.

EA was going to add a "reality mode" for 2015 where no matter what play you call, LSU would run toss lead.

Too bad the NCAA didn't renew the license.

This characterization somehow made me think you weren't high on Cam.

Trying to win with just defense is in effect, playing to lose. You basically tie one hand behind your back and hope for the best. Football is not played on one side of the ball, offense or defense.

Don't know why Miles had to go find a 10 year veteran NFL offensive coach to run his offense, when there are so many geniuses here on the rant to choose from.
