DUde the proof is what happened in the Texas Tech game. GO back and watch it.

I guess the fact that Texas Tech at the 127th ranked defense out of 128 had nothing to do with that.

There's no right or wrong way to do it. Every team and coaching staff has different needs and ways of learning.

If it gets Harris to play better, hell get Cameron a hammock and let him sleep on the sideline.

From the box you get a birds eye view of the field and its easier to see what the opposing defense is doing as a whole.

I think this is overrated.

Starting with the bowl game last year, Harris requested this. The play was getting changed too many time between the two.

It's amazing to me that we have "fans" Who actually seem to think LSU pays an OC 1,000,000+ year to stand around with his thumb in his mouth having no input on game plans or in game decisions.

I agree.. With more experience at Qb this year and with how much better the offense looked in bowl gsme (regardless of TT Defense) I like the move and feel more confident about the offense than I have in a long time

Seems Harris wants him on the field and since it worked on the last game. You have to keep doing it or bad juju

That's cute, you still think Cam calls the plays. Not saying he doesn't have "input", but the play calling is controlled by Miles. With the exception of a few games in 2013, our play calling over the last 4-5 years has been the exact same pattern and the exact same plays. For those who think we were wide open all the time in 2013, go watch the first half against Ole Miss. We were 2 TE, I-formation and the only passes we threw were one route patterns (lead to 2 first half picks). When we got behind and actually spread the field in the 2nd half we looked good, but it was too little too late.

From what I've seen and heard of Aranda, he will be on the field.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Cameron in the box again with Craig on the sidelines to coach BH6.

I've read reports of this on maybe 2-3 calls (goal line fail?)in last 5 years. Can you link quoted statement?
You do realize plays change all the time according to D? Even QBs do it.

I don't give a shite if he calls the plays from his couch. Just have an offense that doesn't completely crumble when running between the tackles isn't an option.

This tells me one of 2 things and possibly both.

1) you've never had to coach a football game from the sidelines.

2) you've never coached a game from the box.

I have coached middle school football where no one gets to be in the box and its very hard to near impossible to see what is happening on the far side of the field or in the trenches. When we played in a tournament at a high school facility, we were given a box. From the box, you can see everything clearly and its much easier to diagnose what the opposing team is doing.

No, I cannot link. It was a text between Harris and one of his coaches from high school that I am friends with.

Cam only calls the plays that work. We all know Les calls all the plays that don't work.

Cam is the OC. Do you really think he would still be at LSU if he was not allowed to call plays? What's wrong with some of you.

but the play calling is controlled by Miles

Why don't you tell us a head coach who doesn't have control over play calling. Some of you negative clowns never tire of posting dumb shite.

Is this supposed to be a put down? Like 99.9% of this board, no I haven't coached.

Sorry?

Les calls run or pass.

Cam picks out a corresponding play.

Les then approves or changes the play.

The play is relayed to the players.

Players line up.

Defense adjusts.

Players do the "check with me" look to the sideline.

Les/Cam change the play.

LSU flagged for delay of game OR Les burns a time out in the first 5 minutes of the game.
