No I didn't.

Yes, they can.

RickDaddy has 'Bama issues, just try to carry on a convo with the other LSU fans on here.

I mean, he's already resorted to the transitive property to compare yardage from Alabama-VT-Marshall.

Yea if there's one word to describe Saban's teams at Alabama, it's soft.

Bama will be the more complete team because you have a defense.

Just don't see the toughness on offense Alabama is used to having. Very weak on that side of the ball. And our defense will be ready

Well it isn't really there yet. Guys are missing assignments which causes them to play slow and not as physical. That's gonna hopefully change. Although it might not have to..

You could be describing the LSU defense.

Oh ok, whatever you say.

But Bama is not geared that way. You don't know much about how your own team runs its offense every year.

Georgia's offense is light years ahead Alabama's

I don't think they are in the same universe. But hey, if you think you guys are going to duplicate offense production like that vs LSU. Then by all means, believe that.

Alabama has never had a tough schedule and still wins National Championships so I think they'll be just fine as far as schedules go.

Bama is A run 1st and pass 2nd type of offense every year. Its the Saban way. Get A qb that manages the game and build a lead and run the ball down your throat to finish it off. Never been much flash to the Bama offense since Saban has been there. Does it work? sure he has won 3 titles in 4 years. But I have watched Bama every game this year and the offense is in big-time struggle mode. If they played this saturday, I would take LSU to beat Bama rather easy.

What does this have to do with how good an offense is?

Yes they haven't looked particularly good yet. Either the o line will get better or it won't. That's a big key to Alabama's season.

A change of personnel due to an injury to Ryan Kelly caused a pretty marked improvement in the second half of our game. We finally got some push on the offensive line and were actually starting to impose our will. We ended up with 6.3 yards per carry which is pretty solid IMO. In the first half (when Kelly was in the game), we averaged 2.2 yards per carry. In the second half (when Lindsey was in the game), we averaged 8.8 yards per carry. That is a pretty marked difference and why a lot of us think we will continue to get better.

ETA: The "Saban way" has not been so much about run first as much as it is about having a balanced offense. The perfect example is the 2009 SEC Championship game where we pretty much had Florida guessing the entire game.

Yeah he totally changed the way the line looked.

The HUGE losses on running plays is aggravating but I think it's an easy fix with time. Guys are simply botching assignments right now. Hopefully they figure everything out.
