Down three in the 7th inning?

Umm yeah. Next batter is up with two in scoring position.

The pitcher then has to make a choice, pitch around one of our best hitters.

That's how rallies start.

This team just isn't good at manufacturing runs. The need groups of hits and walks. We don't steal bases, bunt, hit and run, squeeze, lean into pitches, etc. anything

there was a rally. two on and no out with 3-4-5 up. I mean what more do you want?

You're only allowed three outs per inning and you just want to give one away down by three in the 7th.

Wow.

Bunt = cleanup hitter on with 2 in scoring position and 1 out.

No bunt = possible double play

There is no point arguing this really. Anyone that seriously thinks bunting Bergman there was smart baseball is beyond hope.

Wait. People think we should bunt with one of the best hitters in the country down by 3 in the 7th inning?

That may be the dumbest thing I've ever heard on here.

Down 3 with your second best hitter? A bunt there would have been the dumbest thing I have seen in baseball in awhile.

Actually you are dead wrong. It is an elimination game and you are chasing 3 with 9 outs left, you need to put runners in scoring position and minimize the outs. As good as Bregman is, he is not a true power guy and your true power guy is on deck. No you are wrong you take the double play out of the question. Bregman is only behind Ryhmes in hitting into double plays. That decision just like the one against UCLA is a no brainer, you bunt!!!!

So bunt the guy batting .330/.430/.560 and give away an out. Brilliant!
