Splain it to me then. Because I'm thinking you aren't following logic very well.

Here is what I have been saying:

Old parking prices:

LSU vs top 20 team, 200,000 people on campus, sell-out crowd.

LSU vs cupcake, 150,000 people on campus, sell-out crowd (people leave early).

Last year parking prices:

LSU vs top 20 team, 200,000 people on campus, sell-out crowd.

LSU vs cupcake, 150,000 people on campus, sell-out crowd (people leave early).

New increased prices:

LSU vs top 20 team, 200,000 people on campus, sell-out crowd.

LSU vs cupcake, 150,000 people on campus, sell-out crowd (people leave early).

NOTHING WILL CHANGE. That is my point, and it is correct.

I think a lot of people are mis-understanding each other. Of course there will always be people in line to take spots in the pay lots close to tiger stadium. What I believe some are saying is that the lots in BFE that were free was made up of a mixture of season ticket holders, visiting team fans, profesional tailgater that stay and watch the games at the tailgate, and spouses, friends, and kids of said pro-tailgaters. All these people make up the culture that is LSU tailgating. The last two groups will dwindle. People that were not in the free BFE lots before just to tailgate are not all of a sudden going to pay for something they were'nt doing for free.

Also, I'm a seson ticket holder with a moderate tailgate crew(75% ticket holders). Is it going to be a big cluster frick on gameday morning to get a pass, how is this going to work - are they making change at all the entrances? I know you can get them on Fridays but not everybody lives in BR and gets here on Fridays. I predict the logistical nightmare may piss off more people than the money coming out of pocket.

I disagree 10000%. There will not be 1 person who doesn't go tailgate next season because of the increased prices, including you.

I can honestly say I will not set foot on LSU's campus next year for a football game. As you posted earlier, the only voice we have is to not show up. I will go to the Oregon game in Dallas. Other than that, I'll watch the games at home with friends. Our tailgate have all agreed on this as the prices are getting ridiculous. $40 to park per game per car that far away is an arse fricking.

All I can say is that if you are bitching about spending$20 extra per gmae, then you probably should not be out there any way.
If money is that tight, stay home!!!!!!!

It's not that money is that tight. But at some point you got to draw a line, this year 20 next year 40. Once the start to charging for parking it just going to go up and up. We all need to boycott one of the sorry games. they have got way to greedy.

Just read all of the responses and they all have merit.
I'm not saying that if people don't go tailgating that others won't be there to take their place.
What I'm bummed about is that I don't want others to take the place of the crew I tailgate with.
BTW I tailgate with KATT right at the steps of the Union on the parade grounds.
We've been there 11 years.

If your crew all has tickets and are going to the game I have sympathy. However, if they are there to set up a tent and watch the game on tv and take spots from those that are going to the game and therefore need a parking spot, I have no sympathy.

Why some of you people sit here and defend an action that will DISCOURAGE tailgating is beyond me.

And get real its more like 90 bucks a game than 20 for many.

Shitty schedule and this added crap equals lot of fall golf and home tailgate parties for me this year.
I'm not paying it.

An entirely different issue, but yes, it will be a logistical nightmare. There is NO way it won't be.

You're pissing on a lot of people with this line of thinking. I know you don't care, but these folks add just as much to LSU tailgating as anyone.

Like I posted earlier, a crew if 3 vehicles and a trailer is an extra $105 per game.

An extra $735 per year isn't enough to bitch about? Don't be fricking stupid

It's not about the tailgate, thats the problem. For some it's ONLY about the tailgate, the GAME is not that important. That only happened in the last 15-20 years or so. If you're not there to GO to the game, STAY HOME, LSU doesn't need you, and it would make my life a LOT easier.

LOL, split 3 or 4 ways or more, no it's not. If it is you can't afford it in the first place.

Who should LSU and the Athletic dept worry more about, the fans that want to park so they can get to the game or the fans "creating atmosphere".

The Athletic dept has six months to continue working on something I'm sure they've been working on for at least a year. Sure, there will be some snags the first game. But who knows, by that time they may have decided not to charge for the lots by the levee.
