That 2-point conversion play was .

All I read was the thread title. Is Leonard talking about Cam's offense?

If there was in fact laughing and joking at practice them that is a tell all sign of piss poor coaching. I'm not saying our coaching is piss poor all the time but it was for preparation for that particular game. To a certain extent that shouldn't be tolerated. It is the coaches job to set the tone and provide an intense, focused atmosphere for the players.
Anyone else notice?
Whoever the DL was that screwed up and kept a drive alive, Orgeron jumped all over his arse on the sideline, then Les comes over and gives him the usual pat on the head.

Lets be real: we couldve trotted out the practice squad and won that game. We played a base d look for essentially the entire game with few blitzes or stunts. We worked on passing and treated it as a televised scrimmage.
What is better for the longterm development of this team, and these kids as they grow into men? To be micromanaged and told to take a game seriously in practice that literally all they had to do was show up to win. or to be loose and then see, with the clarity of hindsight, how their actions in practice affected the outcome on the field. The team will grow from it, they will learn from it. For petes sake, It was immediately and directly addressed afterwards by the leader and star player after the game.

But ... relax guys ... by Nov, we'll be the 85 Bears.
Right, because that's obviously what I'm saying. . .
Our defense is good, and it will get better.

Face it guys, We sucked Sat. night! From the QB to, the receivers, to no Special teams! Lucky we did not play anyone the last 2 games. If we play like that against good teams we will be lucky to win 8 games. Thank GOD we have LF!!!

Exactly. I don't know why people can't realize that.

words words words. The only thing that means anything is your actions. We shall see.

Reading this made me feel a lot better.

The ignorance here could be explained by ULL fans, but maybe not. LSU won again. The team has South Carolina next. Miles is undefeated against Spurrier. Another overlooked fact, like the 51 straight non conference wins.

It would be better to play every game as though you respect the fact that your opponent practiced, suited up, and came to play, that your fans paid fees and showed up, and that a committee of "experts" will be assessing your every performance in assigning value to your record.

That speaks to how the coaches prepare this team and it isn't positive.
You could say with emphasis, that this team prepares up and down to their competition.
Problem is, other coaches treat every game the same way....get the best effort and execution at every game.
Talent wins, but superior coaching wins when talent levels are the same.

I agree. The coaches should walk around with pieces of 2X4 in their hands and when any of a player laughs, they should hit him with that board. That will put some seriousness into them. We can't have these guys enjoying themselves while so much of the fan base lives in a state of perpetual angst.
And any coach that smiles should be immediately fired.
This is serious business, dammit!!!

It would be. and it sounds like LF directly spoke to how they did not do that this week when they should have. I don't think he is a liar or full of shite, so going forward we will see. it also sounds like miles also spoke to this after the game in regards to players taking snaps for granted. some choose to think he is full of shite and a liar, I don't, but going forward we will see.

If you know anything about Buga (or football), that wasn't referring to the coaches. He is the kid with the best character on the team, no way he is referring to coaches. As far as laughing in practice, this team is young. Lots of sophomores and freshmen. More than likely, Les wants them to be a little bit loose at the least so that they don't end up nervous. By leaders, Buga means himself, Dural, Hawkins... Guys that have been here for a while and know the gig. Drops, bad penalties, and a lack of pass protection. I am unsure of how there have not been more bans handed down for crucifying coaches and players like you all love doing. How you make the leap that Fournette took a dig at our coaches is beyond me.
100% absolutely accurate. How can anyone not see this is beyond me.

Hopefully this ugly arse performance will motivate them to take everyone a little more seriously. If they can clean up the drops, penalties, mental errors, etc, this team could be very dangerous.
My biggest concern at this point is Special Teams. Man that can bite us in the arse.

which means absolutely zilch. Last time I checked OOC games don't win you the NC....course, I could be wrong about this.
Well, we also have the highest SEC winning percentage, the second-most SECCG appearances and wins (tied for both), two NC appearances, and 1 NC win over the past decade.
So there's that.

None of that matters unless LSU wins by huge margins so that your basic low self esteem LSU fan can feel a little better about himself.

Miles has the philosophy of largely letting the team police themselves. We can disagree with this, but it is what it is.
When he has a team with a bunch of leaders, it can create a great atmosphere where everyone holds each other accountable. When you don't have that leadership and no coach steps in, you get failures like we had last year.

It was a true freshman who was in the neutral zone. You're right, miles should have benched his arse.
