On his podcast

Hard to disagree, he’s better as a soph than any of our previous great safeties.

Tua ain't seen a unit like this yet.

Expect Bama to change everything about the way their offense plays by halftime

With that said...why are we in the bottom half of the SEC in terms of defense? We have played pretty shite offenses and a 1AA school...

Laron was fricking fierce even as a freshman.

That said Delpit is a better all around DB than Laron was imo. His game is more akin to Eric Reid, who was badass as a freshman as well.

But yeah Delpit is going down as an all time great without question, and will probably be the best we’ve had at the next level as well.

I've said he's the best tackler on the team since last season. He sticks it.

Delpit is incredible. He can cover, he's great against the run, he has incredible instincts.

He is a phenomenal player. Maybe the best defensive player we've had since Mathieu. And if it's not him then it's Devin White. And they are playing on the same team together.

We're in the top 4 or middle of the pack for Scoring Defense, Rushing, and Passing Defense while versus SEC teams.

Not bad considering we've played Georgia, Auburn, Florida, and Ole Miss.

We still haven't seen a perfect game from our defense, but they are progressing pretty nicely.

Idk how to even quantify it. The past like 15 years has been one big blur for me when it comes to our badass DBs.

What I think is more interesting is that teams are avoiding Greedy and giving Delpit a lot of looks which is great to have 1a and 1b on opposite sides of the field.

Laron was great before he turned into a juiced up freak who could only run straight and hit hard

Reid compares much better to Delpit, but he wasn’t the athlete that Grant is. It’ll be interesting to compare the careers of he and Adams.

the key stat for this LSU team (and football in general) is turnover margin. We are 10th nationally.

8th in def turnovers

beyond that, scoring defense is 17th nationally.

we have played 3 top 25 ranked scoring offenses (OM, UGA, and Miami). FLorida is 37th.

If Bama was smart they'd sit Tua against LSU since LSU would be their only loss and they could sit at home for the SEC championship knowing they'll get into the playoffs because their one loss was without Tua.

I agree delpit reminds me a lot of reid, but it depends on your definition of “athlete”...Don’t forget Reid ran a low 4.5 at the combine with a 40 in vertical. That was impressive as hell at his size

LSU has wins over three teams that are ranked in the top 25 of scoring offenses currently. UGA was ranked 10th or 11th in scoring before they played LSU and were averaging 43 ppg. We know how high Ole Miss was ranked in offense and they are still ranked 16th in scoring. You're wrong.

When Delpit blitzes, forget about it. He affects the QB one way or another almost every single time. It's LSU's D at its best when we do that. Aranda sent him on some really good disguised blitzes this weekend and UGA was all confused.

We're 17th nationally and in the 30's overall.

We also moved up to 68th in total offense from 80?? Or in the low 80's after Florida

Crazy thing is he's playing injured. Refs in Auburn game also robbed him of a forced fumble too.

josh allen is really really good. he and delpit are hard to beat for sure. deandre baker had a great game and would definitely fit in to dbu.

tbh, i haven't watched one down of bama football this season. what's the point. i'm sure they have a stud lb.

I think Delpit could be the best of the bunch. Here goes. Honey Badger made more big plays but Delpit seems to be involved on almost every play at all levels. Reid was fantastic all the way around, Delpit seperates as the more attacking db. Adams, was an intimidating freak, but Delpits football iq sets him up to make more plays. I dont know, theyre all great, was just thinking about it the other day.
