Monthly splits:

April: .250/.340/.310
May: .276/.308/.531
June: .215/.340/.342
July: .328/.427/.578

There was some concern expressed here earlier, regarding the year Bregman was having, and really he was the victim of bad luck. Article. His BABIP was unsustainably low, and we've seen that begin to swing in the other direction. Really starting to settle in, and you're seeing his K% and BB% moving in the right direction. Last 7 days he's 8-21 with 2 doubles and 2 HRs. Doubt you see that 1.000 OPS hold up, but he's definitely going to benefit from the lineup around him.

He is going up against Nola, who is on a really good run in his own right (ERA of 1.61 in 28 IP in July), tomorrow.

Eta: welp, now he's nicked up and likely misses the game against Nola

Nola will win a Cy Young once the Phillies put a few offensive pieces together for him.

I just don't see that team being good anytime soon. I know he can still win a Cy Young award on a team not at the top, but if they can't score, his win-loss ratio won't be the best and he'll likely get looked over even with a good ERA.

Guess you didn't know that King Felix is in the AL. Nola is in the NL, but he will have to fight Kershaw for the NL Cy Young

I think the Phillies are headed in the right direction. Hell, they just did blow up their world series winning era.

They have the worst record in baseball, there really isn't a direction to go in besides up. Nola's best bet is if he gets traded which he won't

I should have clarified..their farm system is headed in the right direction. Which is the bigger obstacle, stockpiling quality players.

And hell no he won't be traded.

Guess you didn't know that Kershaw's performance is 99% independent from the Philly offense which was in question

Bregman is still young. In 4-5 years, that AVG will be steady around .275-.300

Pitchers had tape on him this year, and even though he is down from last season, his numbers haven't dipped so much as to be a major concern.

The phillies have several guys MASHING the ball in aaa & aa- run support shouldn't be a problem for nola in a year or two.

of his simply can't be factually stated. The Stros have made it clear that they aren't willing to trade certain players. They need pitchers.
Tyler White won't be sent back because he has to play or they lose him. Moran is an all star waiting to happen. He is big and physical.

Hell Marwin could be trade bait. If Bregman keeps it up, he becomes more appealiing for trade.

This is about salary, depth, who is willing to give up what for the trade.
Professional baseball teams do not have loyalty to anyone.
Altuve, Correra,Springer, DK, that's about all that is untouchable for the Stros. .

Yea I understand the nature of the business, and studs get traded every day in MLB. He just seems like their centerpiece to build around.

He's on a team with one of the top 5 players in baseball and you're saying he's the centerpiece?

1 - 3 so far tonight with a triple. Now up to .295.

Hope he finishes the season above .300.

Kendrick?

And yes, I would build my team around good pitching first.
