brandon harris deserves another chance aint no doubt about it! he'll thrive in canada's offense! i'm not saying name him the starter from day 1 but he deserves the chance to compete! i also respect that he isn't transferring and is willing to compete

Brandon get off the internet, go back into the gym and work on your footwork and delivery.

Uh,it's the opposite. The guy just can't complete short passes. He has very little shot.

With a new offensive coordinator and hopefully a much better offensive scheme coming to LSU soon, let's hope there is fierce competition for the QB position.

This means that yes, Brandon gets a shot, along with Etling, Scott, McMillan and Narcisse, this spring, joined by Brennan in August.

I still think at least one player from that group will transfer.

BH has struggled so mightily with short passes and check downs/progression reads. He could suddenly improve, sure, but usually by junior year, a QB either has it or doesn't. He has a cannon arm sure, but on a lot of his deep throws, he should have hit the receivers in stride but he underthrew and the receivers made athletic plays to make BH look better. Overall, Etling showed a far superior command of the offense, though he is not as physically gifted as Harris.

all the players deserve another chance

feel like any sense of development at qb was hindered by the 2 previous bozos.

I hope he does show improvement. He has the physical skill, but has to master the fundamentals.

Footwork, mechanics, pocket presence, progressions, touch . . .
Unfortunately some kids just never develop. I don't know if its him or poor coaching, but I hope he turns it around.

We finally have an OC that I trust to start the QB best suited to score touchdowns, rather than an OC who starts the guy not in Miles' doghouse. I'm fine with whomever Canada/O name as as starter.

By starting another Brandon Harris thread, you do know that you are not going to improve BH's chances of starting, right? On the other hand, if he can prove himself in the spring, he will earn the right to start.

I don't disagree with those who observe that Harris has problems with accuracy, related to footwork, mechanics, etc.
However, I think he simply does not handle pressure well on a consistent basis. Coaching mechanics may not help that problem.
I wish him the best and glad to see he had the chest to stay.

What evidence do you have to say that he will thrive in this offense? You rantards have a problem with the difference in facts and hopes.

Love & appreciate the young man, just IMHO regardless of coach scheme or team his game did not translate from HS to college. Maybe he should look to bulk up and make a move to WR or safety.

Every QB on the roster should compete for the starting job. May the best quarterback win.

I'm also not opposed to installing play sets for certain backups. For example, a spread option set for day Lindsay Scott or Lowell Narcisse. Run it a few times early against cream puffs and make the late October/November schedule prepare for it.

Or don't use it until we play one of those teams where we may need some deviation from the norm to win (like Miles' fake FGs and such).
