From my basic understanding, consistently overthrowing receivers is often a clear sign of poor/bad passing mechanics. Things such as releasing the ball too early and not following through. And if this is the problem it seems Cameron being a supposed QB guru should have been able to fix any physical issues.

Any Rant QB gurus notice any change in Harris mechanics throughout the season or is it all just a mental block?

His throwing mechanics are fine arm wise. Needs work on his feet. Physically Harris has improved a ton from freshman to sophomore year. We need him to make the mental jump from sophomore to junior year.

Throws late, lack of weight transfer to his front foot; aims the ball when pressured...timing routes are off more often than not...freshman mistakes, but should be much better by now...

I know this might sound stupid, but what IF Pocic being at center hurts. Guy is like 6'7".... Maybe Harris cant see the middle of the field? He threw well in some games, others not. So I know this isnt a legitimate problem, but who knows

I haven't broken down the film on him but typically high or "sailing" throws are a result of either dropping the elbow or poor footwork. I'd imagine Harris is doing either one or both of those.

Seems like footwork problems. Looks like he throws off foot sometimes too

Pocic seems to be doing a great job at center however isn't Pocic better suited for a tackle position?

He needs to work on this a lot. He relies way to much on having a strong arm and his lower body mechanics need to become more instinctive. When he is not pressured he does fine, but when he starts to get pressure and/or loses confidence his mechanics go down the drain. We don't have anyone on the sideline that can point that out to him during the game. Last Saturday in the first half his mechanics were horrible. He apparently talked to Cam at the half and was shown something because he was a lot better mechanically in the second half.

I am by no means a mechanics guru but I saw alot of dropping the elbow in his throws saturday night, especially on some of those ridiculously overthrown balls. Seemed rushed when they didnt need to be.

My guess is he is going to be back and guaranteed a LT spot

It's amazing how good he looks in warm-ups. Then again...it's not like we're ever going to actually use any of those plays in a real game.

I'm not sure why we don't let him do what he does best.

I like Miles but really wish he could disappear when our offense is on the field.

His targets HAVE to help him as well. Mouton dropped a pass and Fournette whiffed one as well early. Confidence is key for QBs and he had little to none on Saturday

He looked lost after the 2nd half Bama INT.

These are not freshman mistakes. QB is the hardest position to play in football. That's why Qbs rarely leave after their JR season. Harris will improve next year just like he improved from last year.

He had very little game experience prior to this season and needed to go through some growing pains.

He threw for over 300 yards and we lost. He throws for 84 yards and we win. His success is completely dependent on a successful running game.

It really seems like he has a legit cannon but literally has no "touch". He guns the ball on flat, bubble and slant routes. Its like he has no finesse. Which is outrageously frustrating when LF7 has no-one within 10 yds of him and he guns it over his head or hits his shoes.

He isn't set on a lot of the throws, sometimes hurries out of neccessity and sometimes not.

Yup. It's pretty simple really. Hold your hand near your head like you'd be releasing a football. Hold you elbow up and then let it drop. The angle of your hand is up when the elbow drops. When you keep it up, the hand is more level which results in a level pass. Harris seems to have issues with that.
