I just don't understand the want for Harris.
i don't 'want' him, necessarily, just curious what his next step is. i wonder how much of a difference a new OC makes.
do you chalk up his "failure" to him alone, or is it another cameron/miles flop

Kind of sad. He's a local kid and I am familiar with him and his dad through my wife's job. Everyone says he is a good kid and his dad was a pretty good guy as well. You hear other stories about his attitude at Parkway, but some people just make stuff up or over-dramatize issues.
He has great physical talent, but unfortunately all the little things that make a QB never fell into place: Mechanics, pocket presence, progressions, touch . . .
He came to LSU raw and he may end up leaving that way and that's partly on him, but our coaches failed to develop him as well. This could be due to Cam coming from the NFL ranks where QBs are typically already developed for the most part. I know cam coached at the college level as well, but we don't know if his QBs came out of HS raw or coached up.

I chalk it up to the prognosticators giving him a 5-star.
He wasn't that good.

Didn't he have people making death tweets at him
No, someone told him to drink bleach or something to that nature. While classless that's not a death threat.

I think he will go through spring, then make a decision

Always thought Harris was a poor man's AJennings, but I do wish him luck in his next stop.

He would be best served by going through spring practice and determining where he stands with the new staff after they implement their offensive philosophy and he has had a chance to be coached by the new coaches. He gains nothing by transferring now as he still has to sit out a year unless he goes to a lower level school.

how so?
He seemed upset when it first happened (who wouldn't be?), but he seemed pretty involved on the sidelines and smiling and whatnot the latter part of the season

This is exactly right. He's not a d-1 talent. D-1 arm but that's it. And there's A lot more to being a qb than arm strength

Wouldn't want a quarterback, or any other player, who didn't want to start.
That being said, this was a better team with Etling under center. I don't think there is any question about that

His biggest problem seemed to be that he did not understand that every pass did not have to be the "home run" ball (to mix sports analogies). Sometimes a 5 yd pass or even and incomplete pass OB is the best option. Don't force what isn't there.
This is all on Miles. He didnt ever want to pass anyway so when he had to it was basically a deep punt to the sidelines(if INT). This is "QB development" under Miles. I think he fricked up B. Harris pretty good.
