Brad Wing is the most exciting kicker/punter that I've ever seen

but I'm only 28. Has LSU ever had a kicker as dynamic and dominate as Wing? Donnie Jones and Chris Jackson come to mind, but I didn't really look forward to them kicking the ball. When Wing kicks/doesn't kick the ball, it seems like anything can happen. Wing is really a pleasure to watch

I have been telling all my non-LSU friends about Wing. I have never looked forward to our punter getting some action before

Chad Kessler comes to mind.

Donnie Jones and Chad Kessler were BEASTS.

Corbello for Heisman.

I feel like he averaged just over 50 yards a punt one year. It was unreal how far he boomed the ball.

I remember Patrick Fisher being able to boot the ball pretty far in the 2007 season

Browndyke and Corbello were badass.

I can't ever recall paying this much attention to punts.

As freshmen?
Didn't realize his dad punted for the Lions one year.

I think that may be a NCAA record

ETA: I stand corrected. Kessler holds the NCAA record with a 50.3 average

I remember a punter for TCU/SMU???? in the early to mid 2000's that used to lay people out during the return, and videos being posted. I'll do some research and see if I can post it. He was a beast.

Yeah, Kessler still holds the FBS record at 50.3 in a single year.
With Wing, it's the same feeling I had for the Saints Thomas Morstead as a rookie.
They don't punt for distance, but both punt so high and have incredible hang-time that the coverage teams are down there to field the ball or cover the returner. And both place the ball where they want it to go.
Go figure, Morstead said on twitter he is a fan of Wing.

That's correct, he averaged 50.3 yards his senior year. However, it's a bit misleading because LSU used Jeremy Witten to pooch punt, so Kessler's average is skewed. He could still kick the hell out of the ball though.
