LSU would have to shoot at least 40% from three (likely closer to 50%), and UVA would have to shoot very poorly for LSU to have a chance.

UVA is built to destroy a team like LSU that relies primarily on its inside game. It's teams with stretch 3s and 4 who are deadly from the outside that can compete with UVA. Have to be lighting it up from outside to defeat the packline.

Yea UVA is a terrible matchup for us because they would force us to play patient halfcourt offense...whereas I think we match up well with teams like Duke. They don't play very good defense and like to play up and down. Okafor is a matchup problem, but he's a matchup problem for everyone.

"So how are we the 10th seed still? cmon joe cmon"

It means he thinks there are at least 36 better teams. Should LSU be seeded higher considering some of the losses?

No it does not mean that. It means he thinks there are 36 more deserving teams of better seeds based on resumes.

The purpose of seeding any contest, basketball, football, mumblety-peg or whatever else, is to grant more deserving entrants a better chance to advance and win than those less deserving. If Kentucky goes undefeated, they will be the number one seed and play the winner of the play-in game, which will be the sixty-fourth seed.

Lunardi or the selection committee can use whatever method(s) he or they consider appropriate, but the fact remains that if a team is seeded 10th in its region and there are four reasons, then whomever is doing the rankings thinks there are 36 better, or more deserving, teams.

Are they better? Who knows? That's why they play the games. But the opinion(s) have to be based on something and resumes are the best anyone's come up with.

BUT IT'S THE SAME THING!

this one has LSU as 8 seed.

10th is better.

8 plays #1 in the round of 32.

This cbs bracket is ignorance. Has both Wichita and Northern Iowa as 5 seeds. its going to be wretched to be one of the 12-12 and have to play those guys.
I have to remind myself this is just speculation by one guy with no pull with the committee.

I wish the whole tournament were un-seeded, all the top 128 names in a hat.

I'm having flashbacks to 2000 against Wisconsin thinking about playing Virginia.

Tony Bennett who coaches Virginia is Dick Bennett's son. Dick Bennett was the coach of that 2000 Wisconsin team.

Playing teams like Clemson and shitty non-conference teams at home killed our RPI.

I want our non-conference SOS next year to be hard. Like top 50.
