If 2007 had LF, we probably don't lose to Kentucky. Anyway, I would put this year's skill group up against any in recent memory.

not at all....the 2003 team was awesome.... Hell even the 2001 team could score on anyone... And 2006 had the best team n the country at the end of the year imo. What do these teams have in common??? Way beter qb play than this yers team will have and it will effect how the season goes...

Who is playing behind Beckwith? Beckwith and the other LB's will be the key to the defense. I just don't see the D-line being that good. I'm very worried about the run defense this year especially with a new DC

2011 defense > any defense known to man, EVER.
Would be awesome but can't expect it with our D line depth/inexperience

Don't continue to be an Azz dude. You have no idea what kind of qb play LSU is going to have, yet. Stop acting like you do. You, and no one else knows yet. IMO, the 2011 team beats any of the teams you just named, as long as JL is the QB of the team. LSU is going to be very good this year, whether a championship comes of it will be determined if they get a key break or two. Time will tell, but stop with the "LSU QB is going to suck crap". You have no idea.

dude stfu. No one wants to hear your constant chicken little negative bs. Seriously. You are a joke on this site, just like Peej.

We had a TF and Sophomore starting at DT last year, and they improved significantly throughout the year...so much so that they shut down Ole Miss and Alabama later in the season. They will only get better with the experience of starting an entire year. OUr DE's couldn't get pressure for shite last year...no big loss there, and quite possibly an improvement there. LSU is going to be very strong up the middle....

Question marks at DT

WTF are you talking about. We return both starters, who got progressively better last year, and we have quality depth there. Do you even think before you type?

At DE, you do realize that last year was our worst pass rushing defense in a long time due to our DE's?

QB doesn't have to improve much, if any, to equal JJ from 2011.

2003
Michael Clayton
Devery Henderson
Ally Broussard
Justin Vincent
Skyler Green
2006
Dwayne Bowe
Craig Davis
Early Doucet
Brandon La fell
Joseph Addai
Keiland Williams
Charles Scott
Jacob Hester
2011
Reuban Randle
OBJR
Jarvis Landry
Spencer Ware
Michael Ford
Alfred Blue

While our current offensive skill position players are very highly touted as talented players, outside of LF and Dural, they haven't accomplished much. The above mentioned players all had successful careers at LSU.

Yes as far as sacks but Danielle Hunter was one of the best de in the country last year as far as shutting down his side of the field during run plays.
Only 5 dlineman ,in the entire country , had more tackles than Hunter. Having 73 tackles from the de position in a 4-3 is very impressive.
He also had 13 tackle for losses. So while he didn't get sacks Hunter was very productive for us last year and his loss will be felt.

I did go back and watch the Bama 2nd quarter when Beckwith had to go to the locker room. But the D forced a field goal attempt, and Bama's kicker hit the upright, so Bama was still scoreless. Beckwith returned to the game on Bama's next series, at LSU's 33, and Bama scored a few plays later on a slant to Amari Cooper. Beckwith was on the field for all of Bama's scores. He has the opportunity to be a great one, but we did not see greatness from him vs Auburn, Arkansas, A&M, or ND. If his d line improves, he can be much better. D line just needs to be better this year and we have a chance to be great.

They're favorites in 10 games this season, I'd say they can win most of their games.

Really?

2011 JJ

3/1 tds/int ratio
61% compl
138.7 qb rating
7.7 yards per attempt

3.5 yards per rush attempt

2014 AJENNINGS

11tds
7 ints
48.9% compl
118.3 qb rating
5.4 yards per attempts

2.5 yards per rush.

So yeah the 2014 qb would almost need to double his 2015 production to reach JJ 2011. JJ didn't suck in 2011. He just didnt.

STFU dude....1 post.

Once Beckwith took over at MLB, LSU was MUCH better in run defense. They had a bad game against ND...but most of that was due to that fat azz chavis not getting them or caring to get them into proper position.

Yeah, really you dumb mf.

I can't believe you are defending JJ. You do realize that Miles put him back starting against a couple of lightweights.....then of course the massive bed shitting when he played Alabama again.

I swear, I know it is said often, but we really do have some absolute dumb mf's on this site. The fact that you took time to look up those stats says more than anything I can post here. Good god. JJ.....defending him....that says it all. The dude was horrible. End of discussion.

A lot of it comes down to want.

Does the d line have it?

Time will tell. We will all know soon enough

again....you stupid mf.

Did you watch the Arkansas game in 2011? He was absolutely pathetic early on until special teams and the D could make something happen.

Against Ga., he may have been even worse than Arkansas, again, until Special Teams and the D could turn the game.

Against Alabama.....well......

he was fkn horrible......JL was MUCH better than him. PERIOD>

Beckwith will start and play a whole season at Mike. I don't think you can put a price on what that will mean when it's all said and done.

If he stays healthy, he is the key to our season. He will be a big name LB when he leaves LSU.
