Yep. Frickin Lee in the 2010 Bama game shite the bed. Oh, wait. He sealed the victory in that one. Guess your statement was stupid.

ETA: BTW, I love that this has turned into a JJ vs. JL thread.

uf was garbage

Idiot. They won 11 games, had a great defense, and an offense that wasn't that much worse than ours was at many times. Calling them "garbage" but pretending like LSU was some powerhouse is fricking stupid.

We had receivers that couldn't catch, or hold on to the ball after catching , no deep threat, a patchwork OL that looked downright awful at times, and a QB that struggled to be consistent without reliable OL and WRs.

We also had a defense that was talented but looked like they missed the spark that a Heisman finalist gave us and didn't take games over the way they did in 2011.

How anyone can say with a straight face that we were a NC level team last year is just shocking to me. We struggled against Towson, and awful Auburn and Arkansas teams.

LSU isn't a championship team every year. Neither is Bama (2010). There is no reason to pretend like any time we don't win it all our coaches suck.

I think the staff did a pretty damn good job holding everything together while dealing with a lot of challenges that came up both before and during the season.

We showed up every week and were in every single game until the last whistle, winning 10 of 13. Can't ask for much more than that given the flaws that team had.

Yes, we outplayed Bama, but that was a great job by our coaches and players stepping up and responding to the challenge to have the team play better than they actually were.

If you look at it honestly, we were a 9-10 win team last year, and that's exactly where we ended up.

He made ONE very good throw in that game, after JJ played the entire game and led LSU to the lead with under two minutes to play before getting hurt, to make sure Bama didn't get the ball back.

The Lee knights that act like he led us on a game winning TD drive are pathetic.

Regardless, I said based on THREE YEARS of atrocious play against Bama. 2008, 2009, and 2011.

So how is my statement stupid??

He's had an abundance of talent everywhere except for the most important position on the field... One can make an argument that he's over achieved with the QB's we've had over the years.....

Voodoo, name our def coords from 09... You can't b/c they sucked!

We put up big points that yr w/ a Frosh at qb. Interceptions, well hell yeah! Got throw to catch up even though we averages a boat load of points that year.

Here's the points
1. Boog is right
2. Lee wasn't great but he should've played more and we scored waaaaaaay more w/ him in the game. Funnest LSU football I ever saw was the first half of that year.
3. UF did suck last year. We gave that game away

Horrible and embarassing time management failure against ole miss in 2009, then the very next season a terrible display of coaching and time management against Tenn. in a game Les should have lost for his final seconds of chaos. The despicable BCS champ. where we couldn't even make it past the 50 yard line because LES kept running the same dumb arse option and run plays that didn't work the first time we played Bama! Then last year, the set of dubious and idiotic calls where LES faked a field goal where alleman was in range, then let him kick another where he was clearly out of range, then yet another retarded failed onside kick.. Not to mention never playing Lee when Jefferson was destroying the team on top of the fact that he has players get in trouble with the law every single season!! Boog is very correct in his statements. Les miles does not learn from his mistakes and is a terrible coach. The only reason for his success is the prominance of the program he coaches, kind of like Eric Spoelstra with the heat

I don't know about stupid, but, personally, you sound like an arse. What, exactly, causes you to have a conniption when someone says something the least bit critical of Miles, JJ, etc.? Are you saying that Miles is and has always been infallible? Because if you are, that's just stupid. And I'm far from a Lee knight. While 1/9 was extremely painful, it was also redeeming in a way, in that our long JJ/JL nightmare was over.

And by the way, that first quote was not me.

Conniption?? Disagreeing is having a conniption? I'm pretty composed when discussing anything on this site, at least compared to most.

And I don't pretend Miles is infallible at all.

1/9 was awful. Miles did a terrible job preparing the team obviously, and the players did a terrible job as well.

It was a complete failure on all levels, although Bama shouldn't have been there anyway and I think the result was inevitable, but that's a different discussion.

But the oblivious fools that pretend that Jarrett Lee would have somehow saved the day are so stupid it is comical.

I've said since that night Miles' biggest mistake was not playing Lee because he turned him into a martyr. If Lee had played, given how awful our OL looked, the game would have been even more of an embarrassment because the Bama D would have destroyed Lee the way they did in 08, 09, and 2011.

Playing Lee would have been the easy way out for Miles imo.

Had Boog been our DC that year, we go undefeated!

Tommy Hodson should've played more snaps, too. He should've never came out of the game!

There is no doubt that:
1) Les has brought in talent
2) We have failed to develop talent
3) We have made some very bad calls
4) BUT THE RECORD IS STILL THE RECORD.

So what, Booger is my favorite pro football & ex-LSU player I sat next to in Consumer Math class in HS. Maybe one day I will tell y'all why he went to LSU instead of Arkansas. There is two reasons actually. He followed his HS coach Mark "Kool-Aid" McQuillin (RIP). The other, nah, we both still in Winnsboro.
