I agree with both of these claims

quote:

1. Derrius Guice is going to be better than Leonard Fournette Yep, I said it. Guice is going to be better than LF7

3. Brandon Harris will thrive at North Carolina

i mean any fan with a brain could see Guice was clearly the superior back last year.

props to les and cam for only giving him three carries vs auburn last year when it was obvious fournette was hurt.

Harris has talent but he has no accuracy on short passes and he cannot read a defense at all.
His reads were terrible in LSU offense predicated on the run but his coaching was terrible.

I've always said the same thing about Guice since I saw him play in 2015 on special teams. He's got all the skills. He doesn't have the dominant, north-south power Fournette has, but he makes up for it with his disgusting cut abilities. I think he has the best cut in NCAAF since Reggie Bush. I think be also catches better and has better vision than Leonard, whom I love and wish nothing but the best for. I'd never have an ill word about LF7. I HOPE he gets on a good team that can showcase his abilities.

I wish CEO would have played Guice against Bama. I don't know if it would have made any difference, but I think his cut ability would have allowed him to penetrate a bit more than LF7.

There are college offenses that completely mask these issues. We ran a fricktarded system the last few years that made it as difficult on a college qb as possible.

A player like Jordan Jefferson would have put up great numbers in a majority of college systems.

I said this all the time on 247 and got laughed at. It's pretty fricking clear.

Guice and LF7 were seriously different backs who are tops at what they do well. The one thing that I have noticed is that Guice is getting stronger and much more of a bull in a china shop than anyone expected. If that continues, then he will most likely be better than LF7. In other words, a heavier and stronger Guice could be better than LF but I would have to see him actually accomplish that this year to believe it.

People making these bold statements completely forget that LF7 was not at 100% at any point in the season last year.

That affects a lot more than game-day. It affects training and preparation for game-day as well.

It takes away that edge that gives an athlete that WoW factor that Fournette had that most athletes do not.

I'm not taking ANYTHING away from Guice so don't even go there.

Not on this board.

I suggested midway through last year that Guice should be the starter no matter what Fournette's status was. That he had earned it by performing better on the field in 2016.

The reaction on this board was attack and ridicule. I was the idiot for preferring production over the "eyeball test." I was the moron who wanted to bench "the greatest LSU athlete ever." I was the guy who "didn't know anything about football" because I liked the running back who diversified our offense and helped us win.

So no, not so much on this board. I'm sure it will become trendy to say it, but this was simply not the case midway through 2016.

Healthy there is no comparison, Fournette is the better player. Last season with Fournette about 65-75% Guice was better, against Ole Miss Fournette was about 85% and was better than Guice.

Guice will thrive in this new offense. No one, absolutely no one could thrive any better that Fournette against the teams that we played with the stacked boxes that he faced. Guice would not have put up good numbers against Alabama. As far as Brandon thriving at North Carolina, I wish him the best. But, I aint buying.

There is no scheme that allows you to inaccurate on short and intermediate throws.
