I also remember that when Bobby left the Saints for the Falcons, he took a lot of cheap shots at the city of New Orleans itself. The city that embraced him as one of their own. During the Saints SB run in 2009, it chapped my arse to no end to see that drunken, ignorant a-hole jump on the New Orleans bandwagon as if none of that had ever happened. A lot of people in New Orleans seem to have forgotten what a prick he was when he left. I haven't.

Is it possible that being a good football player doesn't mean that, wihtout more, one is qualified to be called a good coach? Seems to me that one of the qualities of a good caoch, especially a head coach, is judgment. One can be a very good football player, with very poor judgment ... Anyone need a list?

My answer to Bobby on that Les Miles quote is simply this: if we're using NFL playing acumen as a measure of football knowledge, then I can guaran-fricking-tee you that Joe Montana has forgotten more football than Bobby ever knew. And I sure don't see HIM strutting around like a jackass about it.

If that is the case why does he not ditch his low paying radio job and go make $3-4 million a year in the coaching ranks?

When was the last time Bobby's name was mentioned in ANY coaching search?

That's what I thought.

"Yes. Yes. You know what's interesting. The quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons is Bobby Hebert. No "r" which I find fascinating. You know it's Herbert h-e-r-b-e-r-t, Hebert h-e-b-e-r-t. "Hebert" it's a fun name to pronounce. Try and say it Hebert."

ummmm yeah I guess.

But seriously, being a SLafourcher I am on the fence about him. Its great someone from my home town is on the radio, a former Saints player, and popular(albeit drunken). I just don't see how anyone thinks him ''calling out'' Miles after title game or being thrown out of press boxes is great or can be backed up.

Weather you love or hate him he has us all talking... and in the talk radio biz that is the point.

Personally I can not stand WWL, his show or any of the banter on it. Talk radio in general is slacking in NOLA.

-"If the Saints win the turnover battle and score more points, I think they can win" Bobby's favorite line a Saints prediction.

Bobby says what anyone with some football knowledge is thinking.

If you think Miles is winning because he is that great of a coach you are kidding yourself.

He routinely makes mistakes in games high school coaches should not be making.

Miles is getting carried by talent, JC, Moffit.

We win in spite of Miles not because of Miles.

Miles has not a finger on the defense and focuses on offense.

Bobby >>>>>>>>> Miles

Dont fool yourselves.

Deke is worse IMO. WWL has some of the worst sports personalities on it I have ever heard.

Agreed, but just because Bobby 'sounds' like a retard sometimes and has a sidekick that appears to have been plucked off the streets of Chalmette after Hurrican Katrina and given a job, does not mean that what he says about Les Miles does not necessarily have some truth to it.

LOL, Miles is the one that acquires the talent, Einstein. That's the most important job of a college football coach. If you can't get talent you're not going to win anything.

But then next you're going to say that LSU recruits itself, completely disregarding what transpired in the 80s and 90s.

Miles is the one that gets them motivated to win 10 games a year in the toughest division in college football. But then you'll probably say that's no real accomplishment due to all of this talent Miles fell into. Never mind that Gene Chizik flamed out two years post-BCSNC and top 5 recruiting classes and Lane Kiffin lost 5 games at USC with top 5 recruiting classes every year.

But then you're gonna say that hey, he's just riding on Saban's coat tails and that any idiot can win after someone else has turned the program into a winner. Yeah except that history tells us it almost never happens. Hardest thing in sports is to come into an organization that has a winning formula, change the formula and keep winning, but that's exactly what Miles has done. Think it's so easy? Find 3 examples of it within the past 50 years.

It's fine if you don't like Les Miles, but I'd find a different horse to hitch your wagon to than Bobby Hebert. That guy is nothing but a drunken mouth breather.

A broken clock has the correct time twice a day?

Bobby Hebert, who knows more about football than Les Miles, while on WWL Radio - also said that Ryan Perrilloux, number 11, was on kick coverage teams because Les Miles was trying to teach him a lesson for his misdeeds.

And everyone who follows LSU football, except BH, knew that number 11 on kick coverage was Kelvin Sheppard.

If you think Miles is 49-19 in the SEC since 2005 without being a damn good coach, you are a fruit loop.

After 8 years of winning at the highest level in the best conference in the NCAA, you nuts need to get over this tired shite because 85-20, 49-19 proves you are WRONG.
