I agree JJ needs another year at the helm, his team has shown improvement. It's not all about the wins and loses, JJ is developing these guys on and off the court.

They've shown improvement? We are on a 15 game losing streak where the average loss is 17 points. That's improvement? You're either trolling are you don't know much about basketball. Jones teams have all been awful on defense, except the year Musselman was here. Our fundamentals are as bad as I've ever seen situational execution is also. Most of us knew Jones wasn't much of an X's and O's guy but we thought he'd recruit well and have enough basic structure that our talent would make the difference. What we didn't know was that there's no structure at all and that there is no direction or detail in anything we do. Most of the time when ppl say they just roll the ball out and play it's an exaggeration but in Jones's case it isn't. He has to be fired or things will continue to look like they do now. You're insane if you think he deserves another year or think he has any business being a power 5 coach.

It does confuse me how we are so bad considering how much talent we have. Goes to show how bad johnny really is. Especially when you look at what he has last year...

It really is amazing how bad he is. Like you said look at the talent he's gone through. There has not been a single season where he hasn't a Mcdonalds all American on his team (Obryant to Blakeney), think about that for a second. Outside of the blue bloods not many coaches can say that.

In hindsight, J.Martin and J.Mickey are one of the better forward combos LSU has had in a while. They were severly lacking a dominant guard that year and wd could have made some noise even with Johnny at the helm.

On a side note... i really love Johnny as a person and an ambassador of our university. He's a class act, but somewhat similar to Les Miles, its time for a change. (Not comparing Miles to Johnny as an actual coach. Les deserves more credit)

A class act who paid a former player, got us put on probation, left for the dark years and we welcomed him back when it was all over?

Not that bringing him back is his fault, LSU is 100% to blame for that, but a class act? Really? Not in the top 200 phrases I would use to describe Johnny Jones.

What's sad about that is the way he totally mishandled the point guard situation during the M&M days. Hickey was here already. He had the top assist to turnover ratio in the sec 2 years running and was 1 or 2 in the nation in steals. He was also a big game player who always elevated his play vs the better teams and was our leader. So Jones decides to push him out because he has this super quick stat stuffer on deck named Josh Gray. Ppl can say what they want but Gray was very talented (he's a d leaguer). Nobody could stay in front of that kid and if hedve been coached could've averaged 8 assist per game. Instead Jones big idea was to insert Tim Quarterman at the point. A true wing player who was a shoot first guy and couldn't blow by anybody or cover any above avg point guards either. Grays record starting at point was something like 18-7 while TQs was around 18-16. (Not exact numbers but they Arnt off but more than a couple games). So take away the non structure on offense, take away the horribly coached D and FT shooting take away the poor situational basketball and that group still had enough talent to play yard ball and do something. But Jones would rather be hard headed and play favorites than win games. Yea some ppl say he's classy and a good guy but coaches who do that sort of thing seldom are and what's even more important, he sucks at his job.

Well alright. I want him oit just as much as anyone for the record. Im just one of those dudes who cut the coach some slack on the hate he gets. With that, I'll say it again, he does need to be gone when the season is over.

With a legit coach. Right now only Sims plays defense on every possession.

Not trying to bash you, but I'd REALLY love to know what your reasoning is behind this.

There's talent on this roster. Just got to developme it and run an actually offense with it

Like I said earlier, the team is simply tanking to get into the lottery. Everyone needs to layoff.

I don't know if ppl actually hate Jones the man I think they hate what's happened to the team. I think they hate the way we play and the wasted talent.

Martin and Mickey both left too soon. They should be seniors this year but they weren't learning anything here and Martin actually needed the money so why stay. If we had a real coach there's a good chance Mickey would've stayed at least one more year. Give Martin some time and he'll be fine, he's still a pup.
