I’ve listened to Jimbo‘s press conferences the past few weeks. In listening to both of theirs today, it’s so crazy how different they are. BK is confident, direct, coherent, intelligent, and generally working his plan. Jimbo, on the other hand, is all over the map. I almost feel like he’s trying to convince the listener that he’s not stupid. He rambles, gives excuse after excuse, cuts off just about every reporter’s question before they can finish so he can fumble through his answer.
Hindsight is 20/20, but I’m so glad I’m not sitting through weekly press conferences with Jimbo on the permanent. Guy needs to be selling cars on Florida

Jimbo’s speech to the team in the locker room right after a loss is even worse. He goes play by play on what they did wrong and goes on and on and on. The player’s faces were all I needed to see to come to the conclusion that Jimbo is done.

I’ve done the same and the contrast between the two couldn’t be any greater! It’s amazing the a&m fan base has bought into that clown for as long as they have.

I’ll try to find it. It was on an “inside the huddle” type show they do that I accidentally stumbled on.

Need to remember this is the A&M fan base. The weirdest and oddest in all of college football. Grown men have an intense ring obsession. Cult meetings every Friday night at midnight taking direction from guys in overalls. They certainly embrace guys loving on guys and squeezing each other's nuts. But in public they ca ll it tradition.

BK speaks better than 99% of all football coaches (peewee to professional).

I noticed the same thing yesterday. Totally opposite.

Kelly, clean cut and professional look. In control. Said exactly what he wanted to say.

Jimbo was sitting down, hasn’t shaved in days and wearing a sweatshirt. Had reading glasses with smudges all over them. Almost comes off like a drunken fool. All over the place.

Sad really.

It’s like he thinks if he gives stupid details it makes it all better. He is not seeing the bigger picture for sure.

I think Jimbo is not well. Just an intuition, but I suspect there is either something medical or addictive underlying his appearance.

It's hard to feel badly for someone with the financial guarantees Sexton locked down for him, but I do.

Imagine LSU being locked in with Jimbo, I don’t want to.

Well one has his team going to the SEC Championship and the other quite literally had the biggest disappointment of a season of all time.

Watched Jumbo’s presser last night. Brian Kelly is by far more articulate and intellectual. That’s putting it nicely.

Jimbo is a good fit, though.

Few years back one of those anonymous coach quotes described Jimbo as a fake Saban, and whether you believe those are legit or not this one nailed it. He knows the words to describe “the process” and can use them in a sentence, but he isn’t intelligent enough to understand why they’re said and put them into practice. His model for success at FSU was letting the players do whatever they wanted and to hope talent bailed out the deficiencies in actual coaching. I’m glad he’s not our train wreck.
