He's already competed for and earned the job. So yeah it's exactly what you're saying. The program isn't "on hold". The staff see him as they guy for next year. It's sad how much you guys hate him.

I get you guys hate Nuss. It's still sad how much mental gymnastics you go through to pretend anyone else feels the same. No they are not looking to bring in a QB to "compete" and have openly shown this with who they've pursued. It has nothing to do with other schools desperate for a QB or scaring off an uncommitted recruit who despite what you clowns seem to think will not start year 1. Nuss is the starter for the next 2 years. Get over it.

Dear TigerKnightsForNuss,

I fully expect Nuss to start next year. Is seems inevitable at this point. And I expect him to do well. He's been at LSU longer than Denbrock or Sloan. I'm certain they will do their best to showcase the things he does well.

But make no mistake, Sloan and company have contacted every elite QB in the portal to get more talent competing for the starting QB position. It's not a secret, and no one has attempted to keep it a secret.

It should come as no surprise that elite QBs don't leave their own schools to face third-year, four-star competition for the starting position at a different school. They don't have to.

I look forward to watching Nuss play next year. I will fully support him as the starting LSU QB.

But I'm not going to believe or spread fairy tales to do so. He doesn't need fans propping him up.

What gameplay has earned him the job? When he's been thrust into games, he's been very erratic. I don't hate the kid, but it's in the best interest of the program to go after highly talented QB's in the portal and let the chips fall where they will.

It's not a secret. It's well known they haven't. You can keep daydreaming that they hate Nuss as much as you and are just stuck with him but they've openly said otherwise multiple times. I honestly don't give two fricks who you hypocrites support or don't.

The Georgia and Purdue games namely the only actual "starts" he's had (or as close as he's gotten where he practiced with the 1s). Though the real earning has come from competing with Jayden twice and practicing for 2 years. The coaches see way more than we do and they see Nuss as the starter next year. Also no it's not in the best interest to keep bringing in transfers over top of your existing roster. I do find it funny the same people calling for that are also shitting on Lincoln Riley in another thread for doing just that. Almost like you don't actually believe that and just want it done over top of Nuss, but not a transfer over top of say Underwood or a QB you don't hate.

Billy and Shea repeatedly state that LSU is actively looking for competition for Nussmeier in the YT vid linked in the OP.

On top of the Seminoles and Canes, LSU, Louisville, Kentucky, Maryland, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State and USC have all gone shopping.
