But who is worth what? and who decides?

Yeah, they sell #7 jerseys because of the Honey Badger or Buga.

But they don't sell #34 jerseys do they? Or any other number for that matter.

So who gets what? What does Jamie Keehn deserve?

99% of these student athletes are getting more from the university than what they bring to give to the university. 99% aren't marketable until they get to college and the university's platform allows them to shine.

So let's upend the whole fricking thing for 1%?

And Bilas, Mike and Mike and all the others at ESPN need to just shut up. How are they any different than EA Sports (who had to stop using player likenesses)?

Bilas is a Dukie. He will NEVER say anything good about LSU because some of our students chanted "homosexual" when Laettner played against us down here

This is a pretty shitty deflection.

But the amount of money the schools and networks make far outweighs the compensation the athletes receive.

Really? The athlete gets an education, room, board and books for 4 years. That's around $82,000.00. How much more do they need to be compensated and at what tax rate should that income be taxed at?

We've been trying to tell you guys that ESPN hates LSU.

Its the same bullshite, that piece they ran with about Miles over signing players. He did it once in 10 years and the hat kid eventually became our starting center. Yet Miles is a habitual over signer and teams like bama, auburn, tamu, Tenn just get a free pass.

And some get more than that. Some kids are already eligible to get assistance with living arrangements, so while they are already getting free room and board from the university, they are getting straight cash for assisted living.

Not to mention the hand outs that go on around college campuses.

Yeap, they get paid to talk about sports, but yet they dedicate a whole show talking about Jameis Winston.

The fans follow the school first.....not the athlete.....if little Johnny decommitts from LSU and signs with Texas....the LSU fans will still buy the #7 LSU jersey.

And ESPN subscribers who pay for recruiting info should be fully refunded.

This is a great point. ESPN exploits children for profit every day with their subscriber-based recruiting site, along with 24/7, Rivals, and Scout.

LSU makes money from student athletes, but at least the athletes get something tangible in return.

Maybe ESPN will refer to players by numbers next season, that way nobody will know who they are talking about.

Pretty soon we will be hearing about LSU RB #7 and LSU PF #25.

And Jay Bilas wants to claim that LSU and the NCAA is exploiting people?

Bilas started to take his anal obsession with the NCAA too far a couple of years back, and I think because he got a lot of pats on the back for it, he has kept his foot on the pedal and IMHO he has no credibility any more when he speaks on the subject because he's so over the top in taking every opportunity to blast them on anything they do.

And not all schools make money. In fact most athletic departments lose money. Much moreso than make money.

Yep.

That 82K was based on an instate student. It's well over 100K for out of state students.
