I was sinking into the Youtube abyss this morning watching LSU stuff. Got me to thinking. In both national championship years, LSU had a big game that was decided by a game winning TD catch. Its hard to pick one that I think was bigger, but I have to go with the game winner in 2003 vs UGA. The whole game atmosphere was beyond anything I have experienced at an LSU game.

Which do you think was bigger? Both were in the same endzone, and both were close in yardage.

UGA. That game was arguably the defining launch point for LSU's golden era. Without 2003, 2007 may never happen. Moreover, UGA 2003 was a better opponent than AU 2007. And the 2003 squad was a one loss NC, not a two loss NC.

UGA easily.

The auburn touchdown in 2007 was a case of poor coaching, but bailed out by the players.

UGA hands down, I have never seen a Tigerstadium crowd react like it did after UGA scored.

I'll never forget that Auburn TD. The restlessness that built up as the time ticked off was palpable. That stadium was going to blow up once the ball landed. Thankfully it was caught and it blew up in a good way. I do believe there would have been time for a FG had it been incomplete, but Tiger Stadium would have still been a scary place had it fallen to the ground.

UGA. It signaled we were officially a legit threat. If I remember all the ESPN fricks said we had zero shot at winning. It was LSU kicking down the door and saying we're here. Deal with it.

I agree, but I'm on the fence about having time for a field goal. Ball pops up clock keeps ticking. Thank goodness he came down with it! Can you imagine the meltdown had they had zero on the clock with an incomplete pass? Glad it worked out.

UGA. definitely.

For the auburn game:
If that pass is dropped. We still have time for a field goal
