so is the big cat drill

I think the purpose of the big cat drill is to pretty much eliminate injuries. Take a look at the Oklahoma drill if you want to see a great way to get injured during practice.

How many injuries have resulted from the big cat drill? We've been doing it for what, 3 years now?

Anyone else watch these videos and get the sense that the coaches knocked down the intensity level a ton. I can understand backing the kids up but before long this is gonna be a drill they're just strolling through to get over with.

well big cat isn't exactly ment to show who's ready to get on the field in the fall. It's used to build team unity in the spring.

I though big cat was for developing hand placement and technique at point of attack

Wow thats so cool. I wish our team started playing tugg of war in drills instead of hitting each other..

Is this a fricking joke?

big cat is very harmless tugging on ropes and tires with hands is an easy way to hurt your fingers. shite if that rope broke it would literally cut off their fingers.

Calm down fella.

Just feel like the big cat has lost a lot of intensity is all I'm saying. Also, seriously doubt anyone is losing any fingers over there

Believe whatever you want.

The guys on BBI have said that it's used as a teambuilding exercise.

Dickson always seems to do well in this drill

a thought it was his lack of blocking that kept him from playing much, but he seems to hold his own. his real skill is catching the ball, and i’m sure there are big plans for him to do so. the tight end play or lack of has hindered the offense since his brother left.

Agreed...but mostly because of all these swinging dicks that have no clue what they are talking about.

Why does this stupid drill get so much publicity? It"s a routine drill that everyone does and we look good doing it every year. How about some 'students of the game' type stuff...we've got the talent, that's clear, we just need to be smart.

JC wore his guy out and #13 didn't do too bad either.
