Marriott off of College Drive was just renovated. Close to a lot of restaurants and bars. Stinky's Fish Camp, which has a location on 30A in Destin, is the new restaurant lessee on the premises, and has great food with a great vibe.

I'm not sure I would stay downtown. I once took an uber downtown from near campus after a game, and it was over $50. I don't think it's like this for every game tho

Lod Cook will have cancellations. Book one of the other suggested hotels in this thread and check with Lod Cook before your cancellation deadline. Its on campus and it's nice.

Well, LSU is kind of strange in that there are not many hotels or bars near the campus...and driving after a football game is hellish.
I personally would try to get the staybridge suites, as it is the only hotel within walking distance...and you can hang at Walk Ons after the game to check out the post game show, etc.
Otherwise, the Lod Cook hotel would be nice, but I think the team actually stays there for home games.
I would also check the Hilton downtown, as it is pretty close and they have a shuttle to the games.

I'm a Georgia alum and will be making my first trip to death valley next year, looking to book a room well in advance. where's the best place to stay
I booked my rooms for the LSU/Georgia game next yr (Oct 2018) at the big Marriott off College Dr.. as others have mentioned, it’s nice , it isnt too far from campus and there are lots of restaurants nearby.. I usually stay at the Courtyard Marriott on Acadian Thruway but i think they got wise to those of us who like to book a year out, since i checked their rates and the rooms for Sept/Oct 2018 game weekends are $500/night(!)

The Staring Motel. They have free WiFi and it is convenient to Tiger Stadium. Former coaches such as Curly Hallman were frequent patrons there.

Don’t listen to him about staring.
Lod cook is good recommendation. Downtown is also good.
Would recommend looking into airbnb near the stadium.
