Best place to park for free coming in from the north side of town?

Would like to avoid the clusterfrick of the official LSU lots if possible...will any of the nearby streets on the north side of campus (such as Aster, etc.) have any street parking around 11? I don't mind a bit of a walk.

Right now anywhere. Just drove by cow palace parking lot less than half full

All lots are free today except for reserved lots that you need a parking pass to enter

That is 100% false. The normal paid parking is still paid parking per LSU's site.

They waived the $40 Gameday parking. It's all free except lots that require a parking pass.
@LSUfball: The game-by-game parking (blue area on the map) is free this weekend. The normal $20-$40 fee has been waived for Sat. LINK

I usually pay $40 to park. Parked in same spot today for free.

Lots on Aster near band hall. Usually a pretty quick exit @ the gate on Roosevelt.
