Can't remember what we did two years ago for Wisky. I wasn't driving or paying attention.

Any suggestions where to park and hop on would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not an expert but a train station is most likely your best bet.

Everyone in your group throw up $5 each and Uber there. It will be much quicker and smoother. You can train on the way back.

I highly highly advise not to ride the train. You'll wait hours after the game getting back on it and you'll be squashed into it. Parking your car by NRG would be the least stressful.

Don't do it. The train is a disaster after the game. Lines miles long and it takes hours. Fights were literally breaking out last time.

Don't take the train. It was a terrible idea to even try 2 years ago, unless you plan on going to NRG like 3 hours before the game

If you're leaving out of Baton Rouge, Hammond used to have a depot for Amtrak to go to Houston. I don't know if they still do.

Honestly man you can park in midtown just a few blocks away and catch the train. It's easiest to find a parking spot West of the rail and at that time it shouldn't be too much of an issue

I took the train to the Wisconsin game and it wasn't too bad. I simply left the game a few minutes early. DUH!!!

You aren't a true LSU fan unless you're leaving at halftime.

You should hitch hike. Nothing but Good Samaritans out on America's highways and byways these days.

Trust me Red.

If you are going to take the train, get on downtown at Preston Station. There are several nice bars in the area along main street. This is one of the furthest stops to the north, so when you get on, the train should be mostly empty. It goes south from there thru midtown, med center, and on to Reliant. There will be tons of people trying to get on in Midtown (lots of bars in that area as well). But you'll be on the train before them and will be able to get a seat. This has worked well for me in the past. Total ride time from Downtown is ~30 min.

As others have said, after the game is a mess. But you can always take the train there for ~2 bucks and uber home for whatever it costs.

this is the thread you may want to avoid any advice from mikelb, unless you're into those types things...and i'm not judging.
