That would be tough to beat, but I think I'd take Reid over Landry.

Landry was awesome too, but I have more confidence in Reid to not blow an assignment trying to get a big hit. And I felt Reid played centerfield better, which you'd need more than run support with a guy like Jamal Adams at SS.

WTF is all this Eric Reid BS this morning. He was for sure a good player, but he's not in the Top 3 safety discussion at LSU in the past 15 years....

Anybody who takes LSU era Eric Reid over LSU era Laron Landry is a fool.

Seriously.... Look at the years of your awards. Larons are much more extensive. Reid had one great year on an all-time great team, then went off name recognition for the 2nd year...

And Larons are more prestigious.
I say again, Reid was great for us...but not in Larons wheelhouse....

I have to think Ryan Clark fits in that group somewhere.

Reid was trying to win defensive back awards when Tyrann Mathieu won everything in the world and played when Chavis took a year off and sacrificed our defense to DJ Welter.

LaRon wasn't winning any awards either if he had to compete in Mathieu's 2011 campaign.

Reid also played on a much deeper team. He had to play corner to get on the field as a freshman.

LaRon was great. I think Reid was a little more versatile.

You proved you're an idiot.
Laron started and was leading tackler on a National Championship team.... He was the best safety in the country for 4 straight years. Again, Reid had one great campaign on a great team.
Landry all day and its by a wide margin.

Ok you say he is not in the top 3 convo but only name one other free safety to make your argument.
