It's an unusual time for a coaching change.

Yes, it is unusual to be filling an OL vacancy at this time. It is NEVER an unusual time for a GA to take an OL coach position.

Congrats on the vertical move Big Ben. Hope to see you again on the LSU sidelines one day.

Wasn't he the dominate center who got hurt his senior year under Saban?

I'm pretty he was that dominant center that got drafted by the Bengals

It was posted before. hoping we we will have a spot for him in a few years, but he def needs to get his feet wet before taking over the line for an sec squad. Good luck Ben, and im glad you will continue ur career in the game u love.

according to aglandry and others on the rant, he has completely transformed our line while Stud the Dud was tending to the briskets on the grill the last couple of years.

Wrong. He was an UFA. He was high on the draft boards but the injury really sunk his stock.

Yeah im Sure stud and Miles never worked with our olinemen. If anything, Ben gained valuable experience learning from those guys as coaches.

great player, better man, wish him all the best and hope he comes back some day...I am VERY confident he will do well wherever he goes..as for the last play of the Vandy game, an interesting story that a class act like Ben keeps private...but I think we know who the hc was and as has been disucssed on this board, it is pretty well known what happened...

I heard about this last week. One of the guys at my school, Justin Miller, has signed with Grambling and was telling me how he and the other OL were excited about their new OL coach from LSU. As they should be, Grambling finally did something right

there's more to it than Saban (or Jimbo) just didn't pull him earlier?

Damn, he was LSU's only hope at Oline, Stud is bad and has been bad 2008-2010. Ben was the reason the Oline was better last year! We need an Oline coach!

Since coach Stud changed the blocking to zone blocking our Oline has sucked. Last year was our only good year in the last four and it wasn't because of Stud, he was busy calling plays.

I really like Wilkerson and think he will be a good coach in the near future, but your grasp of the job duties a GA performs is a little off.
