This is a great comparison. I watched Lamar Odom play live about five times. Odom was the best player on the court each time, and this includes Kobe. Odom had all the tools, but lacked the discipline and work ethic.

Simmons being compared to Lamar Odom is a disservice to Simmons.
Lamar had a long and productive career. However, he only averaged over 17 points twice his entire career. For his career he averaged 13 points, 8 rebounds, and close to 4 assists a game. Very good numbers yes, but I expect more scoring from Simmons and I think he will get more assists as well
People can talk about talent and size and whatever, but I expect Simmons to average more than 13 points for his NBA career

I think i like this comparison best:
"After Thursday night's performance at the Nike Peach Jam, the answer is clear: Ben Simmons is the No. 1 player in the class of 2015.
"It's not close," one college coach said.
"He's Scottie Pippen," another one said.
Like a poor man's Scottie Pippen? On the greatest day of greatest days, he has a game that resembles Scottie Pippen's skillset?
Nope, he responded. Like Simmons can be an NBA all-star."
