Watching the NFL pregame commenting on Ben and his likely last game today. They commented on what a class pro he has been. It is clear he was a class act well before he went to the NFL. How many freshman send letter to opposing coaches completing the other team not only for their play but also the sportsmanship the team played with. I was at that game and he played with heart and after reading the following letter I have always pulled for Ben.

BATON ROUGE — Miami (Ohio) star quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, named Freshman All-America last season, sent an e-mail to LSU head football coach Nick Saban after returning to Oxford, Ohio, commending him for not only his team’s skill on the field but its class and sportsmanship after the game. Roethlisberger allowed LSU to post this e-mail here on LSUsports.net.

“Coach Saban,

This is Ben Roethlisberger, the quarterback at Miami. I hope you get to read this … I wanted to first and foremost congratulate you and the team on the game on Saturday. You guys are the best team that I have ever played against and I think you guys will go a long way this year … Your defense was very confusing and had us on the run all game. But that is not the main reason that I am writing you this e-mail, I really was impressed with your team after the game. They had the most class out of any team that I have ever played against in high school or college and I commend you for that. Many of the players, including your big name players, came up to me after the game and congratulated me and told us good luck and have a safe trip home. I just want to commend you and your team for all of the class you have … best of luck and win the SEC.

Ben Roethlisberger

Being good at football goes a long way. He is well documented to be a sleaze of the highest order.

CBK will bring back that class back to the program. The last two asshats made a mockery of this program. I miss Saban and the great leadership and class that came with him.

He is THE reason why I quit rooting for the Steelers. 3 separate occasions he is charged with the same type of sexual crime. He was NOT a class act.

According to Wikipedia it was 2002 which shows that it was his sophomore season His stats for that game were 22 - 34 with one pick. He threw for 195 yards. Link is a game recap. LSU vs Miami (Ohio) 2002

I was at the game. You could tell Ben was one of those 'better than most' QBs even at that time.

One correction: Ben was a sophomore for that game on September 14, 2002.

There are a couple of women who might agree with those sports writers.

Which sports writers forced him to be a sexual predator?

Wonder if he wrote letter of apology to those he raped? Guess at that point he had enough money to pay them off.

Was that Nick's culture or LA southern hospitality?
