Why is that? I don't claim to be some tough guy in any of my posts here, especially in this thread.

Quit playing games. Answer my question, in this thread that you started, so everyone can see. Quit ducking. Copy and paste if you have to.

You are quoting out of context. See above quote out of context.

I told you that this may not apply to JJ. The thing is, we won't know if it applies to him or not until months from now.

Right now, it is exactly how the duke case started. Mirror images.

The only difference is that the duke kids were eventually exonerated. We won't know if JJ is exonerated for some time. Then we will be able to make more comparisons or just say that the media who convicted him without knowing all the facts or full story happened to be correct.

I'm not Jefferson fan. I think we should have dumped him (and Lee) for Mettenberger as soon as he walked on campus. That's not the point of this thread though.

I'm a fan of fair and equitable justice.

I do not believe an accused murderer should be suspended from teaching.

They are accused, not guilty.

Why is that so radical today?

JJ being suspended for a couple games is the right thing to do. Wouldn't do it more than 2-3 though.

Sounds about right if he did some kicking. As I posted a couple of days ago (only partially tongue in cheek), one game per kick should be sufficient deterent.

YOu obviously don't understand the difference between accused and arrested. To be arrested, there must be enough evidence presented that the DA believes you can reasonably be convicted. They should not be forced to serve the punishment until convicted, but that doesn't mean that society should not be protected until their guilt or innocence is established. That could take years. You are stating that Derrick Todd Lee should have been allowed to operate in society, and murder over and over again until legally convicted.

It's insane. I fear for your children, or future children. You are a walking argument for forced castration.

P.S. - Why did you avoid the rape aspect of my equation?

Roger, this dude isn't talking about JJ. He is arguing that a teacher arrested for raping and murdering a student should be allowed to continue teaching until convicted.

Bad example. The Duke Players were guilty. They just got away with. Why not bring up OJ or Casey Anthony while you're at it?

Like I said, a grand jury indictment or DA bringing charges is NOT a conviction. You are innocent at this point. Just because the DA thinks you may be guilty doesnt mean you are or that you should be treated like you are.

I'd argue that I'm not the poster boy for forced chemical castration you think I am, but that's just my opinion.

I did concede in the other post that I would be ok with such a suspension with full pay and benefits for said accused murder/rapist teacher.

The difference here is (and it's a big difference): there is no societal danger that could be argued. There is also no way to rectify a wrong if you suspend jefferson and you're wrong. He's playing college football. Not getting paid.

Sure he still gets his education, but let's be honest: that's not the reason he came to LSU to play football.

The Duke players were INNOCENT. All charges dropped before trial and the prosecuting DA was DISBARRED for misconduct.

I did also bring up Casey Anthony. She's innocent in my book. No proof. Gotta have proof or you have nothing.

Yep, it's made national news and Miles really doesn't have a choice. Now, he can bring JJ back after a couple of games, one of them meaningless even if the issue isn't settled, which it may not be for months.
