Beating Bama

Bama is a awesome college football machine
I watched last night and this is my take on beating them
1- you have to play big boy physical football - Lsu - check
2- you need to protect your QB and QB needs to be able to move - Lsu ?
3- Bama covers tight and tackles quickly 10 yards and in - you need some quick passing 10 to 15 yards - last night over the middle was open - QB having more than 3 seconds is rare
4- I have fear in running my QB - Bama safeties LBers are killers - don't do what Les always did - pound between the tackles - quick hits often but quick hits with much play action - Canada I think is a great guy to figure this out. You go at this bunch - they will always have NFL front 7 and last night in the 2nd half Clemson threw over on edges this Bama D for over 400 yards in the air.
Can Danny handle Bama ? That is for CEO and Canada but the guy that wins the QB job needs to be the guy that can put up the passing yards to handle the Bama D.
Great game Clemson but this game shows how hard it is to beat Bama and the ingredients - We also have Aranda going for us meaning I don't think we need much more than 17 to 21 points to beat those guys !

when we say this others think we are little girls crying but think about 1st or 2nd and goal late against Bama and a OL gets called for a late hit on a defensive player. I know you remember that play.
Now think in all your football viewing the number of times you have seen a OL called for a late hit on a D-lineman ?????

LSU is 10-0 and 35-31 away from winning a NC. That's a pretty big difference to accomplish in one year, but it can be done. Just depends on how much this years team wants it.

I have been saying this for the last several years. we kept the bama game close for awhile by using our power running attack supplemented by passing and then blew the game on defense at the end. saban changed and built a front 7 to stop that attack and miles never changed. beating saban in the regular season in '11 convinced miles he didn't have to change. the subsequent losses went over his head as he had Hill and then Fournette.
LSU needs to change their approach to the bama game or we will lose every game. we need to win in the air and use the running game as a supplement. to do that we need an OL that can pass block much better and a qb that can get rid of the ball fast.

And I think Clemson had 2 TRUE FRESHMEN starting at Tackle on offense.

great points - OL run blocking - very good until Bama and Gators even Wisky and Auburn in 2016 - all games of course we lost - Wisky / Auburn - Les but Bama and Gators was on CEO
Never has a team needed a guy like Canada to come in and bring change - not change like Les would lie to us about but change - OL needs to shift from run first to balance and if you can't pass block you have a concern. Clemson did just enough for the most part to keep #4 clean last night.
