Well with LSU on the outside of the bubble looking in, I can't help but look at the 18-12 record and say what if.....

What 2 non conf losses sting the most? (or any 2 losses)? 20-10 instead of 18-12 right now?

If LSU had beaten Wake Forest and Oklahoma on their home court, they'd be 20-10 overall and IMHO, squarely in the Dance.

Looking back those 2 bother me the most. Early season with out KH and CV I'm ok with....same with this 3 game losing streak in SEC play without KH.

Take away the CoC and Wake losses and this season looks a hell of a lot different. The Tennessee and Arkansas losses were bad too. Give us 2 or 3 of those games and I think we're comfortably in. This is just how it's going to be as long as Jones is our coach.

losing to bama and tenn, sec games wasn't the backbreaker, it was the weight of those non conf losses that always dragged them down, win two of those and they were a lock

How about choking against Alabama at home and then getting blown out at Tennessee and Arkansas?? We win 2 of those and we are in.
But, we saw what this team is last night...good enough to beat anyone, but also capable of blowing 15+ point leads regularly. That, in my opinion, is all on coaching.

The Tennessee loss was/is really bad. Not as bad as Wake I guess because it was on the road, but still really bad.

Should not have lost to the following teams

Tennessee
Arkansas
Marquette
Charleston
Wake Forest

That would be a 23-7 record, plus throw in the Oklahoma game they should have won plus Florida being bad this year

25-5 should have been the record looking back at the season

Would like to have at least 1 of the Brooklyn losses back. OU is going to sting for a long time since that would have greatly improved our chances.

But with so many to choose from it's hard to decide.

Wake Forrest loss at home, totally inexcusable. We had Victor and Hornsby by then, and even if we hadn't it was at home and they are bad.

Charleston Southern or whatever, no real viable excuse there either.

The other early games we lost, one we had Hornsby and he scored 32 points, the other two we had neither he or Victor...should we have lost all 3? Probably not.

I think 2-3 losses under the circumstances we are in much better shape. Losing 5 really hurt and put us in a very big hole early.

I agree. Charleston and Marquette hurt early on.

Not having victor for November and half of December hurt a ton. Our OOC rpi is 138 and would be a bit higher with 2 or 3 wins, especially at neutral sites.
