DWade started the leggings movement about ten years ago
They DO help keep your legs warm and loose if you have troubles with lower-body muscle issues but it's ridiculous when you see 9/10 y/o kids running around in them

They say that it keeps the muscles warm when you aren't moving, but we all know why they wear them.

I know for a fact from when I was playing a sweat band did not fulfill its job. If someone is wearing anything extra its purely style. The only thing not for style we had to wear was ankle braces. A team a few years before ours lost 3 seniors to sprained/broken ankles so our coach mandated ankle braces or you couldn't play

NBA has a rule that shorts have to be at your knees. Can't tell if they are too long if you're wearing leggings so that's why all the players wear them.
