Try to knip all the basketball cludder in the butt,

I saw a lot of improvement in the first half alteast. Defense was much better and so was rebounding. The offense also looked good in the first half. Albeit this might be the worst team on our remaining schedule so this is just shallow improvements until we can see them consistently. its been seen with JJ's teams before, no consistency.

Then came the lazy second half, obviously they were lazy and coasting by but guys like Tim and keith should know this is a problem, they lost multiple games last year and this year for taking the peddle off. CJJ has to install that intensity for the whole game, you have to finish. Obviously this is not the end all be all of the season and we need a lot more improvements but none the less its a start.

Lets hear it brothers

I know this main seem a little uptight but they were throwing up a lot of trick shots and screwing around during warm up. I hope they don't take everything as a joke when they come out. We got our asses chewed out if we screwed around during warm ups in highschool and we played better because of it.

Craig Victor gives this team a true post presence. I was impressed with him. I see 12/7.

Last year, everyone could funnel players driving to the basket because of Mickey. Don't have that luxury this year.

Ben Simmons is a jump shot away from being unstoppable.

Elbert needs to ride the bench.

The two freshman guards need to hit more from the outside.

Positives-Hornsby, Simmons, Epps, hopefully CV

Negatives-team defense, Team rebounding, half court offense still moves at a sloths pace, coaching

Overall-underwhelming.

Idk, I dont think elberto has been that bad. He should be used scarcely though. I think sampson rarely sees the court when JP gets back, he just doesnt seem ready. Hopefully tone picks it up because he will be needed against the best of the sec

Victor made a difference defensively. I saw what I needed to see. Not perfect but the ncaa really screwed us on that. We'd be undefeated with him on the court imo

Victor a much bigger impact than I initially thought. Nice game.

Shot selection was much much better.

Actually looked like an organized team till about 5 minutes left. As opposed to the pick up game format we played to this point.

Definitely more good than bad to take away and build on.

We actually won the rebounding battle today, and by a wide margin (+19).

We were getting outrebounded by almost everyone, so that is much needed

It was a good game but we need to continue to improve. Next two games will show us the testicular fortitude of this team right now.

There's good and bad with what you say. Sometimes you can over coach and make players too uptight. You also probably get there 20 minutes before the game so you think you see everything? I know for a fact Blakeney got there at 4 and put up over 100 shots from around the perimeter. Just because you see a small sample size, do not act like it's an absolute.

It's hard to practice defense when you're warming up trying to get shots up. And there are only so many shots you can shoot before getting bored.

Elbert is very very good on offense. Doesn't rebound or defend much...but he's your 4th big man that plays when there is foul trouble. Don't get caught up with him starting. It's just like last year, darcy starter but didn't play after. Simmons, Epps, Victor will all play well over him

Much improved team in the first half. Taking defense and rebounding seriously. Looking for a good shot rather than taking the first thing available. Then in the second half it was like someone threw a switch and they were right back to the same lazy, careless, try to do too much rather than basics team. I finally agree with what some of you have been saying for a long time. CJJ should have called a timeout, screamed at this team and told them to focus or they would be on the bench. Instead he just let it go on and on as our 24 point lead got cut down to 13. Is there just no hope for this team?
