TV for some and the final weekend is because of the conference tournament.

LSU's last three start Thursday. First two because of TV and the last one because of the SEC tournament.

the tourney didn't always start on Tuesday. But the last series has been thurs,fri,sat for a while.

No but it started on Wednesday and they went to Thurs-Sat a few years ago because of it.

There ws a rule that the last regular season games could not be later than a certain week. Since Sunday is the start of the following week, the last "weekend" series was always a Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
