I watched the GA-LSU series on CSS this weekend and could not help but notice how awful the GA uniforms looked on TV. They looked very worn, wrinkled and unclean. Did anyone else notice this. They were Nike brand, but surely didn't do the logo any justice.

They looked worse in person.

This may be false, but I heard Nike wouldn't allow us to use Easton baseball bats so we went with Russell Athletic unis.

I always wondered why LSU never wore Nike baseball uniforms and this makes perfect sense. Hope they stick with Russel and Easton. Its proven to be a winning combo.

Word on the street is that PM wants to go to Nike everything, but the Nike bats suck. He doesn't like using four different suppliers for various things such as hats, shoes, uniforms.

I was at the game and was more concerned with what a dump their baseball facilities were considering it is suppose to be one of the better programs in the nation. The awful field (faded astro turf around the plate), the stadium paint, the seats(crappy and lack of), the piss over flowed toilets.

I'm pretty sure that LSU baseball signed a 3 year deal with Russell for uniforms and this is the 3rd year. In the past, Nike wasn't interested in doing every sport at LSU, but that changed a couple of years ago. I think baseball will go with Nike next year, once the Russell deal is over. I was told this last year, so I'll check to see if this is still the case.

Years ago, Jeff Boss told me that Nike had the sports at LSU that they wanted (football and track). They wound up adding men's and women's basketball, but not with some huge deal.

UGA just switched to Easton bats from Nike, fwiw. But I still remember when LSU was wearing Sportsbell uniforms in baseball and basketball, those were some of my favorite uniforms.

If we do go with Nike for the upcoming seasons, I sure as hell hope they don't frick with our uniforms. PM has FINALLY got some consistency in the uniforms. In each of our CWS titles we have worn a different uniform... then came the ugly arse uniforms we wore under Smoke. What we have now is classic, and should not be changed. Just substitute the Russell logo for the swoosh. No fricking arm pit trim. Looks tacky as hell.

I used to be a Sports Belle sales rep, and got to know a lot of the coaches and equipment mgrs. It was a great experience for this LSU grad.

Yea, that has become a trend in College baseball. The San Diego Padres started it, which is a salute to the military presence in San Diego. The sentiment is nice, but I agree, they don't look very good on a baseball field!

Yeah we are in the last year of the Russell contract and we will be switching to Nike and we have one more year left with Easton then we will be all Nike. Nike will be the sole supplier of LSU athletics in the next 3 years according to the equipment manager

uga used nike bats last year due to contractual obligations and HATED them. some how they got out of it and this year we use easton bats, but still nike unis.

sorry about the disappointment over the stadium. it's not a palace to be sure, but it's been adequate for our purposes. there's been talk of a new facility, but i'd be scared they might move it off campus. foley is two blocks from my house and was a consideration in choosing this house.
