We're going to hit a lot more over the fence this year

Since Freeman, Robertson, Duplantis & Breaux will hit for a combined 0 HRs then you sure are putting a lot of pressure on the other 5 starters. Pap is also in the lineup for defense but I expect him to hit a few HRs even though his K's were up for the Fall season

Don't get me wrong....I think all 4 of these players are great players and should be starting!! I just don't understand how we will hit many more HRs this year compared to last year? I do think out of these 4 that Duplantis will have a sophomore slump but the other 3 will have solid years.

I think we'll see several HR's from that quartet this season.

Well none of them will combine for absolutely zero, but I see your point, that not the entire team are hitting grand slams. I suppose you'd never like to see multi run homers because no one ever gets on base and it's a go big or go home world. Or a stolen base ever.

I miss guerrilla ball as mush as anyone. I was raised on it. But it's not the 90s anymore. College bats are different, and just look at TD Ameritrade. If we want to win in Omaha we need to learn to play with the team we got, cause nobody sends balls out the fence on the regular anymore in Omaha.

Coastal Carolina, the team we were compared to, led the nation in dingers (they also had a freaking cinderella team that played gabage competition throughout the year). That's an absurd comparison. The claim that we will hit a lot more, (I'd say in the range of 60s, which would put us around 20s last year) based on the sheer experience we have returning is not unrealistic at all.

eta: Did everyone forget we were returning almost no one in 2016? It's not unrealistic to expect a modest increase in HRs.

I agree with you completely on the game changing and that's what I'm alluding to in every statement I've made. This is not the 90s so you will not see a lot of HRs.....today you have to pitch well and play great defense. I think coach PM has done a great job in recruiting the style of baseball player needed to compete in the dead bat era. The reason I say pitch well and not great is because you can now make mistakes pitching and it will not hurt your team like it did in the 90s.

Only thing I disagree with you on is a nice increase in HRs. We will stay around the same number from last year.
