So I got an email from LSU saying that I did not have a high enough priority number to get a season parking pass. To quote LSU.."The supply of season parking permits was exhausted at the philanthropic priority ranking of 1103."

Then a few lines down they say they are going to put individaul game parking permits on sale to wait list customers on Jan 27th.

My question is... If there are spots left for individual game parking why not sell a season pass if there are still people looking to buy them?

As I am writing this I find it quite ironic that 3 months ago I was bitching about having to pay for football parking and now I am bitching about not being able to pay for baseball parking. Go figure.

Are they required to set aside some spots?

Did they offer game by game spots to a select few? Does not make sense. This isnt like selling visitor seats that are returned. A parking spot is there all year.

BTW 1103??? Seriously? At least I never have to worry about getting a spot.

For baseball I would like to see the lot opened to the public for a charge after certain time because its a waste of a parking lot when those people in the gold seats don't feel like coming but can't sell their tickets or their parking pass.

I reread the email, it says that individual games will go on sale for select games. So they must be setting aside spots for the big games. If they are who are they for? Visitors I would guess. You would think all the big wig baseball people already have parking passes.

FYI I believe they will let you in the paid lots once the games starts. My wife has met me a few times late and she has been able to park in the paid lots without any problem. Now it may be after an inning or two, I don't know exactly.

I got basically that same email.

Your request for either an upgrade of your baseball season parking passes or your request for an additional season parking pass has been reviewed by our office. Unfortunately, your account has reached or exceeded the parking limitations set by the LSU Athletic Ticket Office and the Tiger Athletic Foundation.

LSU/TAF policy states, an account cannot have more than 4 parking passes total. In addition, season ticket holders can only have 1 parking pass for every 4 season tickets. Season parking pass holders are “grandfathered” into the amount they currently have. This means the LSU Ticket Office will not reduce the number of parking passes you have, however, you are unable to obtain any additional parking passes or upgrade any current parking passes at this time.

When I asked how I exceeded the amount when I have "0". I got this response.

You exceed limitations because you do not have any baseball season tickets in your name. You must be a baseball season ticket holder in order to be eligible to receive baseball season parking. Also, your account that you signed up for on the waiting list has a philanthropic priority point ranking of “0”. It would have taken a philanthropic priority point ranking of 1103 to be eligible to receive a parking pass for this season.

If you are interested in trying to obtain a parking pass next season, please sign up on the waiting list on the account that your baseball season tickets are under. All requests are then sorted by the Philanthropic Priority Point Ranking system.

That sucks if you have a phil. priority point ranking less than 1103.

Not that it would have mattered b/c both of my rankings are lower that 1103, but the switch to the phil. point system for new tickets/passes sucks. My TAF ranking is 2900 yet my phil ranking is 4300.

Guess I will walking the half mile from the Hayfield lot again.

No, it doesn't. It actually makes people like you donate to TAF instead of riding the wave of higher ticket fees to increased donations.

There was a cycle that was occurring and no new ticket holders were getting in. People were just not donating because they never had a chance.

Looks that way.

The fact that they only allow parking passes to season ticket holders kinda sucks. And even then only 1 parking pass per 4 season tickets.

Pretty much. I will never get a pass.

Worst part is I will have to sign up every year for the wait list ($10) so I can buy individual game permits.

LSU has the fans by the nuts and they know it.

Wait.. Im still confused about the new ranking. The higher the better on that ranking?

I didnt pay the 100 fee last year to TAF and noticed this year I cannot find where to pay it to sign up again they only give me choices to dontate to certain groups.

How do I get my 3 points this year or is that system all defunct?

Which is fine with me. I wish I'd had this info when I got on the waiting list the last 2 years.

I miss maybe 3 home games a year so , it would be nice to have a parking pass. Either way..i'll be there.

Let me rephrase that It sucks for people like me who have been giving "donations" for football tickets and to TAF long before the Tradition Fund was started. All of my "donations" have been for tickets with the exception of my alumni dues, a few small donations to the LSU Foundation, a brick by Mikes cage.

So my $10000 that I have given over the last 10 years is only worth 10 points as opposed to someone who get 20 points for $10000 given to a philanthropic fund in the last 2 years.

Correct. Because with your "giving" you are receiving a benefit of a seat in Alex Box, Tiger Stadium, PMAC, etc.

Giving $10000 to the Philanthropic Fund allows for no direct benefit.

The cycle that was occurring had to be stopped or there would have been a small number of people holding onto the majority of the tickets. All while no one else was supporting TAF because access to new season tickets was impossible.

So how does the new system work? Have they done away with the 3 points per year thing? Now you have to give 1k to get like 2 points?

No. Same points are allocated, you just have "two" taf accounts.

1. Only donations to TAF/LSU
2. Donations to TAF/LSU AND Tradition Fund
