Its a stupid solution to the problem of shortening games, it shortens like 20% of your season's games.

You really want the games short? Bring back the mid-90's bats and put in a 10-run mercy rule.

you change the dynamic of those games too. A 7 inning game has a much different feel than a 9 inning game. Much different strategy when it comes to pitching.
only game shortening I would be ok with is some type of run rule system for all games. No reason for a 10 run lead to go 9 innings.
