Just because black players don't play like the use to does not mean that the international talent can't make up for it.

This makes no sense the game has risen world wide. Korea, Japan, China...

If Venezuela can field an all
Star teAm with a population smaller than texas and and their biggest rivals are The Dominican Republic and Cuba I'm sure the US can field a team with 500 mil people

I agree that no baseball fields in the poorer areas of the country does not help but it did not stop the greats and it definitely did not stop the Latin players

I think he's just stating the lack of interest in baseball among black youth. Which isn't news.

Chris Rock said Baseball is dying ..

Like ok .. Who cares what he thinks. I'm sure he makes most of his decisions in life on racial lines anyway.

Basically he saying these other races suck and baseball will dying because they're not enough blacks playing.. Dam chris thanks for your races statement.

"African-American participation in baseball is on the decline."

Thanks for the revelation ... Black people have always gravitated to basketball over all sports.

*Baseball has always been and will always be just fine.*

hey chris, , Go watch a nba game and shut up dude.

I'm assuming you didn't even take the time to watch the segment before your rant

Well and the stats he brought up

Actually, that isn't what he said. He brought up little league numbers being down 20%. He brought up the average age of baseball fans at 50+ years old.

He pointed to other races and other countries to improve the sport here in the US

True, which he brings up. #'s are still way down for blacks

You can disagree with him, but he backed up his opinion. You just decided to attack the person instead

I watched it, He doesn't say anything outstanding ..

Just because there are fewer blacks watching baseball or participating in it, Does'nt mean the sport is dying.

I agree More blacks should be given a chance to play baseball, and more whites should be given a chance to play basketball.

It wasn't about anyone being given a chance

And you apparently missed the part that had nothing to do with race:

1. Average age of mlb fan was 50+ years
2. Little league participation has drastically dropped for all races
3. World Series viewership is down ~50%

None of that has anything to do with race and is important for the future of the sport.

He was over the top (shocking since he's a comedian), but he brought up some great points. If you actually watched it and came away with what you posted, that says more about you.

So through 2 posts, you've done nothing to dispute anything he's said. All you've done is have his points fly over your head.

If you don't care, why did you rant?

i understand those facts ...

more to say about me huh, well Maybe I care enough about Baseball to say it will be fine and will increase its fan base. I'm sure the MLB is well aware of those issues.

I hope all kids grow to love baseball as much as I have.

Viewership is down because MLB made sure if you want to watch a team other than the Yankees or Red Sox you have to pay a subscription. So people find something else to watch.

The first half of his rant was good, and funny, but most of the old race stuff really has nothing to do with the issue. The most telling part of the entire video is the short video of the dominicans on the sandlot. Kids here don't play a ton of baseball like we did 40 years ago, too many other distractions and too many paranoid parents who wouldn't let their kids bike down to the sandlot anyway, if there was one. Throw in the damage that "travel ball" has done to the game and I would have to agree that it is a game that is in trouble.
