Every picture that I can find has the bar and a little of the banner, but the words are not readable

not sure if this pic will show up but maybe:

from looking at this, it's probably just a little history of the bar itself.

Trying to read it.. I think this is right:

The "H" style goal post represent the threshold(?) into tiger stadium. This crossbar is a (Portion? Fraction?) of the goal post that stood from ____ to 1984?. Since 1984?, the tigers have touched this (or the?) bar before they enter "Death Valley" as a _____ of commitment to whatever it takes for victory!

I know, but I'm pretty sure the first line is correct... I'm not sure why it says that...

yeah, that's the pic. I had trouble view it in google images, and I figured there's be a problem getting it to show up here.

The "H" style goal post represent the threshold into Tiger Stadium. This crossbar is a section of the goal post that stood from ____ to 1984. Since 1984, the Tigers have touched this bar before they enter "Death Valley" as a sign of commitment to whatever it takes for victory!

Final Answer:

quote:

The "H" style goal post represent the threshold into Tiger Stadium. This crossbar is a section of the goal post that stood from 1955 to 1984. Since 1984, the Tigers have touched this bar before they enter "Death Valley" as a sign of commitment to whatever it takes for victory!

Here is the picture he's posting above. That one is actually different: maybe it was before the one they have now (or maybe it is more recent). It says:

quote:

The crossbar below is a section of a goal post that stood in Tiger Stadium from 1955 to 1984. Since 1984, the Tigers have touched this bar before they go into "Death Valley". The "H" style goal post in Tiger Stadium represents "THE DOOR TO OUR HOUSE"
