I read earlier the sections in the UW stadium where the LSU fans will be located. Does anyone know what section the band will be in?

don't think they're going...decision not made yet but not looking good

If they don't go I'll be disappointed. The game won't feel the same. I hope that at least part of the travel band goes up

If anybody goes, it will be just the 50 member band. With the budget cuts there is a concern with getting the band there, but I have heard through the grapevine that the directors said "if you want us at any games this year, we will be at this one too."

Good! I know they decided on new uniforms in 2003 but I was at the Arizona game and it didn't seem as exciting without our songs playing

Apparently, Alleva doesn't want to send the band or the cheerleaders because it would require chartering a flight. However, as another poster stated, Mr. Wickes and Ms. Moorehouse very much want the band to be in attendance. It won't be the same if at least the 50 member pep band isn't there.

I'm sure frank and linda are gonna put a up one hell of a fight for the band to go, I really won't be suprised if taf helps out either, those guys will be outraged if the band and cheerleaders don't make the trip. We'll see though I'm sure what ever deal is made the band will benefit from it, they won't go out empty handed.

Now this had to have been a consideration somewhere along the line before now. First, the money would come from the athletic department so budget cuts wouldn't factor. It would be great for everyone if the band went, if for no other reason to show those folks what a great band looks and sounds like. Second, it would be a nice reward for the band's support of the team. But the only reason that counts is to support the team. And let's say it, the band is an integral part of the LSU spirit. It's just got to be worth it, Mr. Alleva.

In Alleva's previous interview he said budget cuts and higher tuition would affect the athletic budget. Because the athletic department gives money to the school, he said they were waiting to see how much the school was going to request since the state is cutting the school's budget. He also said that the athletic department pays the school for the scholarships, so if the cost of tuition goes up, that will affect the athletic budget.

LSU sold their full allotment of 7000 tickets; I would bet that several thousand more fans will be there. It's SEC vs. PAC-10. The fans need the band to be there.

In 2003 a lot of fans were pissed about the band not being in Arizona. Alleva better get the band and cheerleaders there. This ain't Duke football.

I still don't think that Alleva really "gets" LSU and its traditions, at least not yet. After so many people were pissed that the band missed the trip to Arizona, I'm hoping that TAF might step in and help foot the bill to send the band and spirit groups to Seattle.

You know, I have the same impression. Everybody in the athletic program is on record with the LSU "spirit." Not Alleva. Maybe it isn't true, but he needs to show it. None of us want anybody associated with LSU who isn't committed to the spirit that makes LSU so unique. Ask Miles, Johnson, Mainieri, Bertram, et al.

The band probably won't be going, which sucks. I wanted to go, but I doubt I would have made it into the 50 member pep band if we go

The cheerleaders are 100% goin to make the trip. I have no clue about the band but if i had to guess they will be there too.

LSU is booking flights for the cheerleaders as we speak. Daughter told me last night she is going, but I didn't ask her if she knew about the band. Will try to find out.
