Nobody cares if you go to games or not loser. And judging by this thread nobody would care if you stopped being a fan for life and never posted on here again. Please and thank you

How about Rodney Crowell's " leaving Louisiana in the broad daylight"?
Or, how about Tremble by BTE? It talks about a girl dancing with a pole at Xanthus

West Virginia fans turning the already horrible Country Roads song into funeral sounding music is the most embarrassing tradition by far.
some more fun karma facts:
karma would look exactly like keanu reeves if k reeves wasn't handsome
karma was (big was) considered the best basketball player in the td.com league until he got dunked on by the diminutive cocomolsu.
eta: and his sister was tragically bbq'd

I think of a mariachi band

what the frick this has to do with LSU football is beyond me. this didn't start til the early 2000s. this is not an old tradition. this is a new stupid tradition. we might as well play "Heart of Rock N Roll" by Huey Lewis. Or "Bobby McGee" or "Big River". because they have as much to do with LSU FOOTBALL AS THIS SONG.
Totally agree. The only music heard in the stadium before then was from the marching band. It was pure. I admit rap and Garth Brooks make my ears bleed, but I don't even want to hear music from bands that I like at an LSU game.

This is the same guy who made a big deal about the Laetner 30 for 30 saying he was embarrassed by LSU (April this year?).

Can we just ban it because it's a terrible song?

But, yes, yes it was.

I DEMAND THEY PLAY MORE SONGS ABOUT TIGERS
Posted on 9/3/15 at 8:55 am to Hat Tricks
I do find it pretty funny that OP is whining about songs being played that have nothing to do with LSU football and wants only the band to play songs like "You Are My Sunshine." I guess he forgot the band plays modern music like Kanye West's All of the Lights and Green Day's Holiday. Nobody wants to hear his crappy playlist.

you're arguing for a song that literally has NOTHING to do with the event you're seeing. and you're saying that it pumps you up. it also has nothing to do with anything physical or dominating or impressive or victorious. Like "We Will Rock You" old school. Or modern day hype music.
it's a sad song about missing a girl that you slept with. But it says Louisiana…
we even picked the wrong country star. isn't Tim McGraw at least an LSU fan?
The song is, on its surface, about a girl in Baton Rouge that the trucker is in love with. Several have indicated that the trucker 'just slept with her' and then hit the road. For all we know the girl is his wife. That being said, the song also has a metaphorical undertone about the trucker being in love with the city of Baton Rouge.
LSU and Baton Rouge are virtually synonymous. It is almost impossible to think of one without thinking of the other. Additionally, the song is upbeat and fun to sing.
It's not an old tradition, but there is no reason to throw shade on it.
