How good is Bama's secondary? I know their D Line and Linebackers are legit, they will give our running game hell. How about the secondary though. Has anyone really tested them at this point? LSU is getting much better QB play than the last few seasons and our receivers are stepping up.
I'm just wondering how much we will be throwing the ball because it's not going to be easy to score on them.

Brantley exploited them early in that game, but they adjusted. They are good.

Not really

2 or 3 TDs

Trivia: How many picks do they have in 2011?

best place to attack a secondary, no matter how good or bad, is deep down the field. it's caught for a big gain, incomplete or pass interference. even an int 35-40 yards down field is like a punt.

They have stars in the secondary. Arkansas couldn't even throw for a ton of yardage on them, so we probably won't light up the scoreboard either.

The Bama game will be won by stopping Richardson and having a far superior special teams unit.

The bama DBs are better than the Dline.

They are on par with ours.

Very good. Brantley didn't really exploit them as much as it was a blown assignment by the safety.

Nonsense ... Arkansas was one-dimensional against them

Alabama has one guy with two picks for the season and the other five "so-called superstars" have a single pick each ... after 6 games

WOW ... how intimidating is that

LSU has three guys with two picks ... and one guy I know ... not picking on him ... should have four because he's dropped two right in his hands

Brantley had 190 yards in half a game, then he got hurt. There are some questions about that secondary.

Arky has no running game!

It's much easier to beat a one dimensional team

Same thing JJ did last year in Tiger Stadium. Took advantage of a couple of missed assignments, BOOOM, TD Tigers. That's why you have to at least attempt to throw the ball down the field on Bama. Saban defenses have always been their weakest when a team throws it deep.

My biggest concern is the WRs not catching the ball and tipping the ball to Bama's DBs.

I agree about special teams, but don't think we necessarily have to stop Richardson. Just keep him out of the endzone.

Amen. And their 'highly touted' Dre Kirkpatrick let a Vandy WR run right by him. Had the QB not overthrown him by a mile, it was an easy 6 points.

Barron hits really hard. Outside of him, I'm pretty unimpressed.

TM7 and Mo are one level ahead of any of their cover guys.

Bama's DBs are better at zone coverage than man-to-man. Run on them to open up passing. Similar formula to last year.

Alot of those yards came off of one busted play. Bama was focused on stopping Rainy and Demps, not Brantley. With that logic LSU has more questions at secondary. They gave up 240 yards through the air against Oregon and 463 passing yards against WVU, a team with no running game.

Enough of "that much better" to show it on Nov 5 & come out of the game with at least 2 or 3 very important turnovers and beat them in T.O. margin

But we have Lee making ZILCH for errors this year ... And Wing ready to nail them down INSIDE the 5 when they stop Lee

It's all about the scheme. Keep in mind, Chief isn't over there thinking about how to keep LSU up in the defensive statistics rankings, he's trying to come up with schemes that match the opponents offense. Against WVU he tried keeping everything in front of the defensive backfield and making WVU use passing plays to dink and dunk down the field, meanwhile the LSU D is waiting for mistakes. They came. LSU took advantage by picking up two fumbles and two interceptions.

This team is RESULTS oriented, not statistics oriented. Don't let the numbers fool you.
